I got through in the end! A Scottish lad listed multiple purchase attempts with Apple and Wayfair last night and this morning amounts ranging from 2p to £800. No money stolen but will need a new card. I wish others waiting patience.0

Yes you're right, at least that's what they just said on 5Live. I think 24 business hours means whatever they want it to.0 -

I got my text this evening/late afternoon, checked online, balance is ok, I've never used the debit card, so don't know whether this is a factor or not.0

When I first saw the news breaking of this I immediately went online into my account. There were definitely no suspicious activity or transactions on my account but I withdrew all my money except for a fiver and put into one of my other accounts.
I haven't received an email but I have received a text this evening confirming that my account has been compromised, telling me to check and review my payments but only to contact them if there is any suspicious payments on my account, no need to call them at this time and we apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.
I must admit I'm so glad I've got more than 1 current account as I'm not sure if Tesco Bank can be trusted and it sounds like their customer service is in meltdown.0 -
Checked earlier today no problem. Now have got a text saying my account was affected (though as said here, it could be they are sending it out to everyone which doesn't give confidence).
Still no problems shown but now have moved funds out of current account and changed my online password (just in case).
Not impressed with their communications, I think banks need to update their thinking in terms of their working hours. Many frauds seem to take place at weekends when banks are undermanned and under managed.0 -
Older account affected- debit of £25+ pending. Certainly not any transaction I have made. I just skim off the interest.
Guess I activated the debit card but I never use it, it doesn't leave the house.
Got through around 4pm after about 15 minutes.
Fraud dept will phone within 48 hoursBeing polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

I have a small amount of money missing from one of my two Tesco accounts, which I am sure I will get back, and that's not my major concern. I am angry with Tesco that they sent me a text and an email saying their Fraud Team wish to speak to me urgently, and then they don't even answer the phone. I gave up after hanging on for nigh on 2 hours.
My main concern is what data has been stolen, aside from the debit card details. Do the thieves have my name and address? What else?
Shame this happened to Tesco, and shame it took them some 18 hours before they sent a more detailed text. I'll try calling them again tomorrow as I want to have a full explanation of what happened, and what data was stolen.0 -

Are we seeing an online version of those Northern Rock queues from 2007?0 -
