Depends what they are for. Multiple minors for the exact same thing will result in a major and a fail. Can't remember if it's 3 or 5 of the same fault before it's classed as a major. However 5 minors for 5 different things is not a fail.

It was 5 seperate minors, rolled back slightly on hill start and another 1 was not checking properly on parallel parking but she assures me she extra checked on this as instructor had pulled her about it a few days before

It was a mistake and she moved over after a while

So on a dual carriageway she decided to drive in the incorrect lane.
How long is "after a while"?

Sounds like the examiner had good cause to fail her. Much better then her making mistakes like this in the real world when she's on her own.
  • Was you in the car with your daughter and the examiner? If not, im presuming you're just going on your daughters version of events.

    Yes i am :)

In which case, take what she's said with a pinch of salt ;)

Going into outside lane when should be in left, Driving too slow for outside lane, and not moving over immediately, That's a fail,

Its also a fail if you don't use a bus lane when its open for cars
  • Loads of people fail first time, there's nothing that can be done about it. Just sympathise for a bit then get the next test and a few extra lessons booked.

She failed for one reason and one reason only - she did not reach the BARE MINIMUM standard to be allowed on the road unaccompanied.

    It's that simple.

We still don't know why she was in the outside lane - which I take to be lane 2 - if there was no other traffic about.

    Indeed.

She dropped a major bollock on her driving test. She failed.

Now, why do I suspect half the problem is that at least part of her tuition and practice is with somebody who doesn't see the problem in that?

    From the original post...
