Late Ski Package for Single

  • Relieved that the price is reasonable. Yes, once booked the next job was to add on the winter sports to his annual policy.

I had forgotten about Aldi - he was just saying that he had looked at some proper branded thermals and they were extortionate. We have had Aldi's ski thermals before for general use so will definitely look.

Yes he has been skiing before with the school to Norway- 3 years running so not a total beginner and we only live a few miles from Silksworth Ski Slope.

He has already bought a helmet and goggles but decided against buying skis and boots as he said 'it's not worth it'. He may change his mind after if he decides to go regularly. We also need to go up in the loft to see what is there from his school trips - hopefully his salopettes will still fit although I doubt it.

geoffken, how far in advance did you book your late deal and what time of year was it for? Your trips sound excellent value.

For next time, I recommend he looks at going with Action Outdoors, who are the UK company that offer ski holidays with the French youth organisation UCPA.

Their packages include accommodation (in a youth hostel type place), food, lift pass and equipment hire, plus very cheap tuition depending on which package you book.

You have to sort out your own flights/travel (or you can add the overnight coach from London to some of their trips).

I've done a couple of trips with them, and its a great cheap way of doing a solo ski trip - you can make new friends or keep to yourself, whatever you prefer.

Just to let you know that son hasn't even gone on the first ski holiday that he has booked yet (December) and he has already booked another 4 day one with Action Outdoors in January. :D

Thanks again for all the suggestions. (BTW Aldi have their ski offers on from today).
