  • Thank you all for the excellent advise
  • A quick update
I had a very bad experience with this same neighbour
I went and requested them to move their car but they ignored me next day they kept their car so near to my car that I was not able to open both my car doors
I had to ask police for an advise
Police did help me but after three days same thing is happening they keep their car next to my drive way border and very close to my car
I also came to know that they are first time buyer with a help to buy scheme and are not suppose to rent a room but looks like the neighbour is abusing the law and rights
I am fed up and have kept my car on the side of the road as I don't want my energy levels to become negative

    I read Martin's blog
About help to buy scheme and first time buyer and it did say that it should not be rented
but this neighbour are smart and bold very brave.

Having a lodger and renting your home are two very different things.

it is clear that you do not understand the difference between a lodger and a tenant or why lodgers have no impact at all on the type of mortgage the owner has.

The rules over help to buy prevent letting the whole property, they do not prevent taking in one or more lodgers. So before you start talking about rights and wrongs it would be better for you to do some research on what is what rather than make comments about other people being bold and smart

The fact you have already spoken to the police shows that you and your neighbour cannot live together so perhaps the best solution is for one of you to move or the situation will just continue to stress you

If you own your house and plan to sell in future you will now have to declare the neighbour dispute as you have informed the police, anything less be fraud and the buyer can take you to court if you don't declare.

But basically the issue isn't with lodgers/tenants but the car park thing. Perhaps it's time for some tea and cakes and to talk things through. If you want to be petty and rant about the mortgage your problem then

This seems to be mainly a problem about bad parking, so I suggest you concentrate on that.
  • If it is on your side of the drive and causing you such distress have you contemplated putting up a wall or fence to divide the driveway as this will solve your issue ?

Shared driveways can still have a fixed barrier on the half that is yours and just make sure you build or erect a fence on your side of the property to save any further dramas, As for the room situation I'd personally not be getting involved as it does not concern you and if they do come unstuck with it and know your disapproval it could enflame the situation further, Have you ever watched neighbours from hell ?

This means they can't buy it, then move out and rent it out.
It does not restrict them having short-term or long-term lodgers.

They're parking up to the boarder and this prevents you opening your doors?
You must have a very narrow driveway? Sounds as though putting a fence up is not an option, as that would also prevent you opening your doors. Sounds an odd set-up.
