G24 Parking Charge Notice - HELP

Hello, I received a Contractual Parking Charge Notice from the company G24 LTd.

I parked in a car park on a Sunday for over 2 hours (JUST)

I didn’t even know you couldn’t park in this car park for over 2 hours, as there is only one small sign right at the back of the car park. I entered and parked my car at the front so would have never walked past this sign to read it.

I have heard lots of different views on paying these etc. I am worried if I do not pay it I WILL get bailiffs and my door and be taken to a small claims court hearing.

Is anyone able to help me?

Thanks! x

First, you go to the store/restaurant/whatever, and in full view of as many customers as you can, you speak to THE STORE MANAGER (not one of his/her flunkies) and demand they intervene and cancel the charge. When they prevaricate, you make a minor fuss in front of people, then walk away and write to their CEO / Head Office directly and insist they get involved and cancel it.

Then you go on Facebook / Twitter / Social Media / whatever else and kick up a stink about the state of parking at this venue, and how it's disgusting etc. etc. Then you write to your MP and the PM about it, actually on paper, not by email, using the template letter here:

    https://bmpa.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/211923909-Why-not-write-to-your-MP

Within the 28-day appeal period, you also appeal to G24 using the IPC template in the **NEWBIES** sticky thread which is one of the first three listed at the top of page 1. You read the entirety of the **NEWBIES** thread, paying attention to the bits that refer to IPC members, and ignoring the bits that apply to BPA members. You very slightly modify the template letter to point out that at 17 mins. "overstay", you are well within the 2x 10 min grace periods which need to be allowed by reference to the IPC Code of Practice (one on entry to find a space, park, find the T&Cs signs, read them, digest them and accept them), and another at the end for leaving the car park.

You do this in the full and complete knowledge that G24 are - like most PPCs generally and IPC members in particular - an absolute bunch of scumbags who aren't interested in anything but parting you from your cash, and will therefore reject your wholly reasonable appeal without even considering it.

They will then throw a whole load of reminders, final reminders and generally threatening letters at you, quoting things like the Supreme Court case of Beavis vs. ParkingEye, Elliott vs. Loake etc. to scare you into paying up on threat of CCJs.

You will ignore all these letters because you read the **NEWBIES** thread and know them all to be lies.

You'll then start getting debt collector letters. On receipt of the first one, you write back to them, tell them the debt is disputed and should be referred back to their client, and that further contact in any form will be deemed harassment.

You then *TOTALLY IGNORE* any and all correspondence to do with this issue for 6 years - **UNLESS** (and it's a big unless!) you get a LBCCC from Northampton Court Business Centre MCOL, when you come back here and get the help you need. Don't worry about bailiffs - that simply DOES NOT HAPPEN. Absolute worst case is a small claims court appearance, which if you follow forum advice, you've a very very good chance of winning. This will almost certainly NOT HAPPEN as G24 are cowards who don't want their business model anywhere near court for fear of getting slapped down.

You must notify G24 if you plan to move house any time in those 6 years, otherwise you don't give them a second thought, and carry on living your life as if these money-grabbing parasites didn't exist.

No, you IGNORE threatening letters for six years unless you get real court papers or a LA/LBCC from solicitors. Debt collectors however can be safely ignored.
You seem to have picked up on one thing and not the important bit on getting this killed off.

However, if you complain to the store manager and/or CEO and get this cancelled, that will be the end f it. You need to send the IPC template from the NEWBIES thread as well, so don't miss the appeal deadline which may be 21 or 28 days, so you need to check. Copy and paste, and send exactly as it is.

Make the other complaints to your MP and Mrs May as well to stop this unregulated scam industry.

IT was a sunday night so none of the shops where open...

I don't feel comfortable waiting 6 years until this has finished, is it not easier to just pay the £50?

I really dont want too, but I will be so worried for 6 years!?

There are tens of thousands in exactly that same 'ignore' mode. You just ride this out.

How do you cope with Nigerian Government officials' emails needing your bank account details in order to transfer one hundred trillion dollars to you?

This is very little different. Same pig, just a bit more lipstick on it!

    Why do you think that?

I dont want debt collectors or bailiffs turning up at home? Why would they send the letters if they wouldnt pursue it, why would they be wasting their own time (As these wouldn’t be connected to G24 they must be independent debt collector agencies?)

Why do you have in your signature NEWBIES DO NOT IGNORE A PARKING CHARGE NOTICE?

You have been told not to ignore your private parking ticket, but to complain to the retailer and appeal to the parking company with the IPC template.

You are being told to ignore after that stage.

    You haven't got there yet.

That's why you shouldn't ignore it.

Please do as asked. That is your priority to get this killed off. If you are successful nothing else happens. Isn't that what you want.
