does anyone else find that if it's cold and bright they can deal with it better than when it's cold and dark?
I'm hating the early nights it's dark outside now and i'm not even on my afternoon tea break at work yet!
ps. £1.37 potted and I've found 5p on the floor a moment ago so that's going in too0 -

Not a member of the SPC, but I did start it in late December last year (using a biscuit tin,) and was stunned to discover there was £303 in there when I opened it yesterday. Couldn't believe it. :j:xmassmile_party_
That's all our food, and booze, and most of our Christmas presents for our families! Just need to go out and get it all now. Only 35 days to get it all though.
Hope no one minds me posting this here.
A very warm welcome home, jaylee3!!You're welcome to re-join us, your No is 300! Please pop it on your siggy for me as it makes life so much easier. Of course no one minds you posting here!
If you'd like to pop over to SPC 9 and C&P your last year's saving on there then I'll be only to pleased to include your savings with those of the rest of us. :T
A tin as most certainly as good as anything to save in, Antomac! As long it does the job and has a hole in it, perfect!!
Good evening all Potters!!I hope you're all enjoyed a great weekend. Far better than you enjoyed to day I'm sure!!!!!
For all those members who have colds, viruses or are simply feeling low at the moment.....here are some {{{{hugs}}}} and very best wishes for you to get well/feel better soon! :grinheart
Excellent news of the 2 x £5 notes potted, 12 month challenge!!
Nice work with the change, indigowarrior, but so sorry to hear about your little one being poorly. Best wishes for a quick recovery.
Almost a £1 closer to whatever your Total turns out to be, parksandrec! So good saving. What a lovely kind lady to give you that tin, more cash in the pot I'm guessing!
Ooooh £20 gone into the pot eh, mrs-moneypenny, with the possibility of another £5er added come Friday!!! The excitement builds!!! :jUnfortunately there is too much month and not enough money left!
On the plus side - I was tidying my bedroom today and found £1.45 on the floor.
Will be making a concentrated effort from now on - but will probably be next week after payday!
Loving reading all the posts - feeling very inspired!
It's so wonderful to read about members getting so inspired with saving, Jellyb, and getting motivated by reading about the savings of others! Good work spotting that £1.45!It doesn't matter if you have to wait a while until you're able to next pot, look forward to doing so and then save all you can!
Ah people are far more careful with their cash nowadays, Miss D M, I blame David & George for going a few steps too far with the austerity lark!! BTW.....what are you doing counting your money??? I thought it was in a Sealed Pot!!Rascal!
Well I'm blowed, having said all that about roadkill then on you come having found 5p, Chutney, well spotted and potted - along with your £4, brilliant!
Oh dear Onmyway2, I do so hope you're fortunate in getting fixed up with another job ready for when you're made redundant. Not a great thought at this time of year - but - you're still managing to save some as well! All best wishes to you, be lucky!! :kisses3:DH wants to save the little bit of cash we get from selling eggs to friends...It wouldn't be much, maybe £5 a week - is this allowed?
That's an ideal way for you to collect money for your pot, Dizzy Imp, of course it's allowed!! :j PS. Seen your latest post, well done on the £1!!!Prospects of another possibly going in too! It could be a good little earner for you Dizzy in which case I'll be eggstatic for you!!!
Why ever would she ask eh, jakes-mum, but thanks for sorting her out, and a gold star for having done so! :staradmin BTW, you're a real crafty minx with your DH....£40 potted for NOT having gone out for a planned meal! :rotfl:That would never have crossed my mind!! :AWell done!So glad you and Lily had a really fun night out, jakes-mum, letting yourself go and enjoying it does us all a power of good! Get your DH to invest in a belt......so he can bring home even more treasures for you!!
There's change in the car to be potted and you were writing a post about it, tatabubbly??!! Well done with your savings!
A great amount potted swimminginaseaofdebt, you're doing so very well with your potting!! :j
Louby...please don't feel as though you have to buy a pot to save in; if you can manage quite well with using something else then please do so and.....save the money instead!
Do what you're able, Saver-upper and good luck playing 'hunt some cash'! :rotfl:
Just as long as you keep motivated, Pinkwhisk, then do it in whichever way is best for you! :money:
Every bit potted is very well saved, muppets!
YOU got 4 x £2ers TheDapster??!!! You'll soon be keeping up with jakes-mum at that rate!! Wasn't it a gorgeous day, ideal for walking, and a whole lot better than today!!!
Peerfeeect Vicky!!! :dance:You're potting YOUR OWN CASH TOO??!!! I still reckon he knows what he's doing. Hey Vicky....are you sure it's not for services rendered!!!! :rotfl:
Though I understand exactly what you mean when needing to take money from your pot for CPs etc, chickadee, why not put a certain amount of cash into a Holding Pot each day/week/month for such things then transfer it to your SP when you know it's safe to do so. It'll work out better for you....and your pot can remain as it should be.....sealed!!!See all about it on my opening post on Page 1.
Cor, I wish I could say I wouldn't need to go into a shop before Christmas, 32b3!Not to worry as in time it'll all get done! :DGood potting though whatever time of the day it was done!!
Very well done the Brownies with all that amount raised for the Brownies, Westie, excellent work!!! :j:T:j
Brilliant potting siju, good job you needed that jacket!! :j
That's one of the joys of winter, benten....the cold it brings and the heating costs necessary!!!Not to worry as I bet that £45 gave you a real Ready Brek glow, fantastic!!! :T
Although I know what you mean, Dioviva, I do love the changing of the seasons and would hate having winter all year. Although life would be easier to live with so much sun and light. At least saving helps....a little.....don't they?!Have a really lovely evening and Tuesday, Potters. Save as well as you're able!
2nd November is the opening date for 2017.

I was proud of them as there is only 21 of them so some of them must have donated more then the £1 we asked for a donation, they all came to brownies in their onesies, to which the parents and carers were please then they were all ready for bed when brownies finished.
We try to do some kind of fundraising each term and the girls have a powwow on who they want to support that term and what they would like to do.
We have had a good few challenges over the years, the best one was loom the moon, where we sent off a 2 metre and half of loom bands, to a charity supporting a child with leukaemia, and a show raising money for Nepal disaster.
As they say every penny counts, and I get some £1's out of it.

Evening
What great ideas Westie. Well done to the brownies. I used to be in the brownies and I remember standing in the phone box trying to get the communication badge. Only problem was that brown owl had forgotten to tell her husband to answer the phone so he had gone out
22p potted today. It's been horrible weather here today too.

Oh this did make me laugh, reminds me of my years as a brownie, when we had to take 20p and a piece of string, and a paper clip to brownies for emergencies, you could ring home with the 20p, get yourself out of trouble with the paper clip and tie your hair up with string?? (never quite worked that one out)
Today mind it cost over £1 to use the phone box if you can find one that works and string will not get you very far, and who uses paperclips as a lock pick now - a - days lol...
No more potted yet, back work tomorrow so il see what I can find in my car, (always a few loose coins from the car park)
