Hi, please could I join this challenge?

I leave my nice steady job in September to become a trainee teacher. I'm super excited, and know I have enough student finance to get by on - but I haven't budgeted anything for Christmas!!
I have a copper jar already (I have no idea how much is in there) and plan on putting anything left from my £20 self-given allowance each week into another pot.

    Goooooooooood Morning potterssssssss

Well I wrote a lovely post on friday and just as im about to finish and post, DH starts tapping his foot and moaning we need to go get the food shop, so out of my head you all went and I then returned later and shut my computer down without posting! He is a right royal pain in my arris sometimes! :rotfl:

So here is a much more condensed post!

    Welcome to our newbie

Well done Cazzie on another weight loss week! half a lb is still another step in the right direction so still an awesome achievement :D

DH sold his exercise bike yesterday so celebrated by going to the pub *rolls eyes* but brought me back 3 x £2 coins so we still love him :D (especially as I changed them up for a £5er :rotfl: )

Miss Lily and I decided to spend some of the evening watching youtube videos of the Walmart sweet aisles in Orlando :rotfl: . . ummm . . we have a shopping list now . . .

Talking of Orlando, our park tickets have arrived :j :j :j that has put everyone (even his lord grumpiness) into a bit of a pre-holiday excited tizz, it always becomes very real when the tickets turn up doesn't it! :D

Now I need to go find out what the heck Laffy Taffy is! Every youtube video 'buy laffy taffy! its awesome!' but no explanation of what the flumpy dumps it actually is!

EDIT: It turns out Laffy Taffy is basically Maoams . . have to say im a bit disappointed, I thought it was going to be some amazing new america only sweet :rotfl:

I shall return later hopefully with some potting news :D

Ooooooooh, I'm so excited for you, jakes-mum! There's nothing like a long-awaited holiday! I remember being excited to try taffy (I was a big Friends fan back in the day) but I was bitterly disappointed by it! The type I tried, purchased in Atlantic City, was like flavourless chewing gum, but if Laffy Taffy is similar to Maoams then I'd be willing to give that a go! There is still so much to be excited about in the food department though - I do love a Twinky washed down with original Mountain Dew! (Not the neon-coloured version you get over here!)

We looked at a couple of nights away in Eastbourne but the only weekend the brother could do coincided with the air show, which is a lovely event but doesn't half put up the old hotel prices! At £712 for the four of us just for the rooms, it was a tad excessive! A friend of mine even said she and her boyfriend had had a week abroad including spending money for less than that! It is expensive for a break in the UK, I find. But we will arrange something a little less damaging to the finances!

I excitedly organised a pile of shrapnel to exchange with the mothership for a shiny new pound I knew she had, and then imagine my utter distress when at SW she happily handed it over for raffle tickets!!! Needless to say, we had strong words, and I don't think she will be making the same mistake again...

Thank you for the encouragement with SW. I was disheartened but I keep telling myself slow and steady wins the race! (Wouldn't it be lovely if we could shift a stone each week though!?)

Happy Sunday, potters! Hope the sun shines where you are so you can get out and scoop up all that lovely roadkill just waiting to be rehomed in a comfy pot :D xxx

PS - Forgot I also popped another pound in the LISA - think it's gonna be slow and steady wins the race with that as well! :)

Oh bubbs, you underestimate me!!! If there's one thing I excel at, it's putting on weight! I put on exactly a stone over Christmas and New Year and have kept it up with astonishing consistency! But I know losing it slowly is the way to keep it off. Thank you for your encouragement and reminding me that that is indeed a block of butter! And haven't you done incredibly well! I hope I can do the same. 19 blocks of butter down, 149 to go!!! :) xxx
