Evening all

Trust you all enjoying the weekend. I am having a lovely week as my DS is visiting us. We have been out and about quite a lot as DH managed to get a few days off work to coincide with the visit.

Have potted my weekly £10 today.

Hope you all have a fabadabosy week

Slightly slow going with the potting lately. Found a penny roadkill :j last week so potted that. Until this hadn't seen any roadkill around for ages. Sticking in the odd 50p here and there and taken out all current pound coins from my pots and replaced them with equivalent value two pound coins. Had to do it an a 'blurry' sort of way so as not to get too much of an idea as to how much is in there.
    Have a good Sunday everyone.

Hi again Potters!! :hello: I hope you're really enjoying a lovely Sunday. It's so good to be popping in with you. :DThere's still plenty more work to do with our neighbours, but it'll have to be a case of when we can, as to be honest we're shattered!! Thanks so much for the smoothe running of the thread folks, the great saving too! For all those who aren't well or who are low in spirits, take great care of yourselves and.....get well soon! :grinheart

    Well saved siju!

Sounds as though those totals will make one brilliant amount, parksandrec!! :j

I've been here before and have my POT going. I have not counted my pot the last 1½ years or so and did it the other day.

    342,49£!

So now I took them all and put into my saving account so I will start from scratch this wednesday! :D

Excellent saving KONG!!!! Though I thought you'd gone, hence you have no number on the list (the one on your ciggie is from a good 3 or 4 years ago! Still, it's really good to see you back with us at last. Could you please C&P your above post on to SPC 9 hereso we're all aware it's for the Total for that year?? Thanks so much and don't forget.....the declaration date for SPC 10 (this year) is 2nd November!! If members don't declare within 2 weeks of that date they risk losing their numbers! :( However, they're always welcome to rejoin. :D Please pop your new No 058 on your siggie?? (I'll send you a PM in case you miss this)

    Very well done muppets....:D

    .... you too MLE007! :D

Potted 50p only yesterday. This whole new £1 coin thing is a right old pain in the bottom ... I've got £3 here I want to pot, but I don't want to put the £1 coins in.

You're very welcome Money Rollercoasters, it's great to have you aboard! Why not save the £1s in a separate pot/purse then change them when the new ones come out; even if you then decide to bank them you can still include that amount when you declare all your savings in November.

Just a quick note to remind everyone that notes and £1 coins are changing this year :) - Don't get caught out ;).

Many thanks for the link Jo Blogs

Many thanks for the link, Jo, we were under the impression from one banker that money would be changed after SPC year was over but that doesn't seem to be the case now!!! :mad:Anyway, thankfully we're pretty much covered here.

Note to all SPC Members: So we're all sure of the money changes this year - save the £1s in a separate pot/purse then change them when the new ones come out; even if you then decide to bank them you can still include that amount when you declare all your savings in November. Sue x

Isn't it lovely to see so many new faces around these parts,Sue?2017 is going to be a great SPC :j

Today I potted the £25 cash I was paid for work, plus 2 x £2 coins.Have potted all the £2 coins I have received during this challenge, and only spend 2-3 of them during SPC 9.

That's brilliant potting Saver-upper, great work!!!! :dance:D'you know I do believe you're right about this year, it could be a really great one!!

Afternoon 32b3 and wonderful saving!! ;)

You're welcome Pennydreams3. Although you're not happy that your pot's being starved at least you're taking care of the mortgage, future holiday and getting things in perspective. Well done in teaching your lad to save from an early age. :T

Sounds like you have the right idea with your "offending coins" Onmyway2, or you could do as I've suggested to Money Rollercoaster above.

A great idea MissDM! At least the Godchildren won't get forgotten either!!

I've no doubt you're still saving Dragon Lily, keep hard at it....

    ....you also Florence!

    Amazing saving Plumduff!!!!

It's still early days MrsShazbat so don't get too disheartened. Hopefully things will soon pick up for you!

Wow you've done very well indeed, mrs-moneypenny!!!

Well done with your normal £10, Lynne, and I was delighted to hear your DS has been back, a lovely surprise!!!!

A very wise way of sorting out your £1s, Antomac, but at least they're all safe. I always find this is the slowest time of year, hopefully it'll pick up later.

Have a good evening and lovely Monday, Potters, feed those pots well!!! :D

    Sue xx

2nd November is the opening date for 2017.

Been slow for me this month, lots of bills to pay and maturing Balance transfers, so now potting for me for this month yet....

On the news of the changing £1 the banks will still accept them after October its just the shops that will refuse and accept only the new £1 coins, so you can wait till opening day and bank all coins then...

Lots of hub bub around these forums, but the banks can not, not accept any legal tender coins or notes, unless you dont have a account with them...

I had a customer last week that banked £1500 in the old £10 and £20 notes like this....

    images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTI_g_e1n9UJfZnQeb9ZkiX0-b3mMUsE4fjZmSXHABOCIcwxq6NAQelgar_20_1592279c.jpg

Still legal tender but not accepted in shops, same process for all notes changing, £5, £10 and £20, and the £1 coins...

I've had a bit of problem where my sealed pot is concerned as I've had work done in the house and I hadn't been out to the bank. I'd already opened the tin to get out the pound coins and old five pound notes.

I do know how much I owe the sealed pot but it doesn't seem right to go the cashpoint and withdraw as much as I need just to put it in the pot so at the moment I've just got details of it on Ynab (my budgeting app) so it's in a virtual pot.

I will keep adding to my sealed pot as before but might end up at the end of the year just adding the virtual pot money to my figures.
