Again, full facts are not known.

The surveillance database stores details of cancellations for six years, so that's the de-facto limit after which you don't need to declare it, despite what the insurance companies lie.
There are a number of databases. They aren't all bound to just keep details on file for just 6 years

No-one can be sure how where they are being checked up on - eg the insurers own database won't just hold records for 6 years!

    Yes they are.
She decided to install a device in her car knowing it would monitor her compliance with traffic laws, and then ignored it.

There are no other relevant facts, other than that she appears to be a very slow learner for an 18-year old.

Don't forget at that age they think they know best!

Just to add, I've just posed the question to my contact in our fraud team, about which database records what and the length of time it's held for.

The Insurance Fraud register. Five-year retention period.

You seem to have a keen interest, are you on it?

How many miles had she driven in the month?

    How many individual journeys?

How far over the limit was she on each occasion?

    Etc...

No, the full facts are not known. With the limited information we are not in a position to judge whether or not the insurance company got it right.

"she appears to be a very slow learner for an 18-year old". What a pompous remark!

Exceeding the speed limit 4 times in one month for which we paid a £100 fine to the insurers.
Some of the local roads in the area are 20mph so sometimes I think the speed can creep up.
I think it's unreasonable to pay a fine and have them cancel the policy. Maybe they could of imposed regulations for her as a last resort other than cancel it.

She deserves to have it cancelled when she was speeding. Tell me does she use her phone when she drives as well.
