I agree Essexh - getting the little jobs done and out of my mind is a real stress reliever. I've finished sorting through the huge pile of mail, it's now either properly filed in the correct folder or shredded and in the recycling bin. I would do yours purple, if you were near me! It sounds silly but paperwork has always relaxed me, maybe it's just because things are being put in some kind of order from chaos and it takes very little physical effort. My mum feels the same way about ironing, which I absolutely hate!
I have a few errands to do this afternoon and one big outdoor project which I suspect will not take as long as I'd thought - it's been on my list since Jan so I decided this would be a good time to get it done as the weather is nice with a lovely breeze, so not too hot.
The spreadsheet has been updated, including the penny I found so I know now exactly what I have and where it is. It's a lovely feeling, even though there isn't a lot at the moment I am confident it will keep growing now that I have really taken control :T0 -
I spent a good hour or two today updating my spreadsheet, feel so much better now!

It's good isn't it, Dolly? Nice to see you back after your hols!
I didn't manage to do the project today, my errands took longer than anticipated and by the time I got home I was too tired to start something physical. I have nothing planned tomorrow so will make it my goal of the day, I should be able to have it finished by noon if I get myself organised.
I've updated my savings account with the 10% from the side business weekend money, it's growing very slowly but it does feel good to know that I am putting myself and my future first for once. No one knows about this account and it's going to stay that way. I don't want anyone to raid it for an emergency and feel so much more positive knowing that my house deposit is getting bigger and will continue to grow each month until I have more than enough.0 -
Aw thanks.
Now that I am back I am glad to be in the routine, no structure makes me just go off the rails with the spending, eating & drinking!
Back to the grind, 6 months till debt freedom - that's the plan now anyway!

Best laid plans and all that. A surprise visit from the gas man meant I had to clear out the cupboard where our metre is, so I dragged it all out into the kitchen. It's something I've been planning on reorganising for a while now, so decided I may as well get it done while it was out rather than shove it back in for another day. It certainly looks better, I broke down a bunch of unneeded boxes and put them in the recycling, they were taking up a massive amount of space. I can fairly easily get to everything now so it was time well spent.
It tired me out - it's hot and extremely muggy I'm not going to do the outside project unless it cools down quite a bit this afternoon and I get a surge of energy. I have a lot planned for tomorrow so the way things are going it might not be until next week. Seeing as it's a job that has been on my "master list" since Jan I suppose a few more days won't hurt...0 -
Hiya,
Nothing like an impromptu visit is there? At least that's one more area you can tick off your list.0 -
That's what I thought Purple - it needed doing, I just wasn't expecting to do it so soon!0

School's on again and life can resume some sort of normality :j Lord knows how I'll cope when school has broken up for the summer - no matter how many times I say I am busy working on the side job, because I am home they seem to think it's fine to tell me stories, ask me to do things, answer questions, etc. Our house is very small and we have no private space where I can set up shop. Renting somewhere is out of the question. I suppose a lot of people who work from home who have similar problems...
This month is a fresh start. I have a time schedule written out and will do my best to stick to it. It includes things like contacting 10 places, researching companies who may need my service, spending an hour starting the large job I didn't touch last week, my daily walk, laundry, ebaying, etc. No time for wandering around on social media or watching videos - I need to get my productive brain back in gear.
Hope everyone is well xx0 -
Morning Misty,
I like your plan.
Have a great day x0 -
Unfortunately rain has put off my outside project. I'm getting a lot of inside jobs done though, so all is not lost!0
