Morning Misty,
The smoothies sound good, plenty of vits in them too. Defintiely go back to the doctor if things don't improve.
I like the idea of reducing the amount online in the evening, something I should really try to do.0 -
Morning Misty,
Hope you're ok? xx0 -
Thanks Purple for checking up on me! I'm still exhausted and so far the smoothies and iron haven't made a difference, I know it's early days yet but will prob go see a Dr in the next week or two. I met up with a friend on the weekend who said I looked about 20 years older than I did a few months back - lol gotta love honest mates!
My new cheaper equip has let me down. I am trying to get it replaced under warranty but it's turning into a big hassle as they are trying to say it's "user error and mistreatment" which it 100% is not. I'm not sure what to do, they won't refund the money to buy something else and at the moment are trying to get out of replacing it. Without it I'm back to not being able to do a lot with the sideline and without the sideline money we are in real trouble.
I'm going to focus on selling things on evilbay this week and next, getting as much listed as I can. I don't have any real high value items left but have a lot of £10ish things so the more of them I can get listed the better.
I've gone into rest mode which was needed after the frenzy of work but now I need to get off my behind and get things done.0 -
Also should mention that I've completely lost my way with the budget. In an attempt to take back some control I have downloaded a very basic spreadsheet that will help me keep track of my bank account, it's actually called a "checkbook register" - I've already deducted things like council tax and rent so have a much better idea of what is left for the rest of the month and how much more I need to bring in to pay the bills. It feels great to have taken control again, I'm a bit embarrassed though by how I let it all slide. I've not really overspent as we had so little money but having a "oh Lord, I hope my payment isn't rejected" moment at the supermarket last week made me realise I needed to do something.
The spreadsheet isn't as detailed as YNAB or the others but it is something I can understand, so I'll stick with it for awhile to get back in the habit of accounting for every penny. I'm going to set aside £10 a month for savings as well as the 10% from any sideline jobs, it's too easy to think that I can't afford to save and not bother. I need to build up a little pot for my own peace of mind and to keep up the dream of buying my own little house.0 -
Hope you feel better hun, definitel go see the Dtr. Sounds like something else could be in the background.
GRR to the equipment and to the people refusing to repair it, hope that gets resolved soon.
Good luck with the Ebay sales too.
Yay to the spreadsheet, I'm sure it'll help you feel more organised.0 -
Check out Martin's stuff on the main site on the equipment - I'm pretty sure it's the Sale of Goods act you need to quote to them - that the stuff needs to be "fit for purpose". Either way put it in writing, black and white, hard copy, NOT an email. If they have a social media present - use it to let others know that they are not to be trusted. If you become enough of a nuisance to them they may well end up honouring your rights without too much of a battle.
As for the budget, just start again, it didn't cause too many problems so see it as a learning curve to teach you what happens when you take your eye off the ball, maybe?🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thank you purple and Essex - it is so lovely to have your support!
Feeling very sad today, dd is devastated. I think this is the first time it has really hit her about how tragic events like this are, wherever in the world they happen.
Still battling to get my money back, but am winning. They seem to think I should just accept "Sorry but no" - I wonder if anyone actually lets it go at that? In the meantime I have found a secondhand version of the same model equip I sold, in VGC for approx the same price I sold mine for. Amazing really as there is only one other for sale in the UK that I could find and it was down in Cornwall. It means eating into the rent money to buy it but if I can get the money back for the dud equip before next month, it won't be a problem. This one is about 30 mins away and I will be going to see it on Sunday, if all goes well I'll bring it back with me.
I'm just finishing up the work from the last two jobs so will have another £140 in the bank by the end of the week - another £14 for savings! I don't have much after that so really need to get calling around and drumming up more business. I also sold something on ebay for £95, I decided to let something go that I don't use and realistically won't anytime in the near future. Then I found something for £7 in a charity shop that I knew would fetch a good price - bidding is already up to £42 with 5 days left so am well pleased. I am .25p away from a £25 payout with surveys, it's all positive at the moment! :j
I've modified my spreadsheet to account for every single penny, with a grand total of all savings, cash, etc. at the end of each day. I'm finding it very helpful and knowing I need to fill out the spreadsheet and watch my balance go down if I spend anything makes me much more likely to keep the money in my purse. I even walked an extra 1/2 mile to save .39p on loo roll.
I love the warm weather but inexplicably I am feeling very sore and tired, I ache all over and am relying on paracetamol to get through the day. Normally nice weather chases the pain away, so not sure what's going on. I feel the way you do when you get out of a swimming pool - really heavy and like gravity is extra strong. This is my third day of no refined sugar or refined carbs and lots of green smoothies - I can't believe that is what is making me ache but you never know, maybe it's some kind of withdrawl. I feel better mentally though because I am taking much care of myself.
I've been able to get some jobs from my list done, despite the aches. I have a couple more I'd like to do this week, and staying offline has made a huge difference in the amount of time I have available. I must remember and not slip back into old habits, I doubt anyone lies on their deathbed thinking "I wish I'd spent more time online"...
I hope everyone is ok, sometimes I feel so old and sad when I look at the terrible things happening in the world around me.0 -
Hi Misty
Enjoying your diary. Hope you get a good resolution on your equipment dilemma...
I use a homemade spreadsheet budget planner to try and keep myself on top of things now.
Going for the "Big B" so I will need it more than ever soon.BUGGRITMILLENIUMHANDANDSHRIMP I TOLD EM! - Foul Ole Ron
It is important that we know where we come from, because if you do not know where you come from, then you do not know where you are, and if you don't know where you are, then you don't know where you are going. If you don't know where you're going, you're probably going wrong.

Thank you Uncannyscot! What is the "big b"?0

Hi Misty I have just caught up with your diary, not been around much for a few weeks, family stuff, health stuff and 3 weeks lovely holiday in the caravan touring new to us areas, but iffy internet.
Sorry that you have been going through a tough patch, deffo get yourself to the Docs and get checked out, even if it is only iron deficiency, it can take ages to get it back to a good level, remember to take Vit C in some form when you take any iron, either as fruit or a basic Vit C tablet.
Fingers crossed on your battle with the company over the duff equipment and also with the kit that is for sale.
