Hey Misty!
Just catching up! Great news on the weight loss. I weighed myself last week and again this morning and I've lost around 3lb. I've decided to make a conscious effort to eat three meals a day and start reintroducing healthier food into my diet. We still have a lot of Christmas junk here that doesn't seem to be going down. When I usually start something (such as SW in the past), I find that I become obsessed for a period of time and it's no good for me.
Currently pondering whether to join 24 hour gym with friend. It's £12.99 a month and can go whenever I want.. I'm thinking this may be good for me time.
I'm off to walk dog with friend after. Going to have a snack beforehand.
It's also grey and murky here, I can't wait for spring to arrive.
It's amazing how much you get done when you step away from technology.
Sorry to hear that you've had to use funds for emergencies but I'm sure with your mse ways you'll find a way this month.
Have a good day xChandelier.

Eeek another 1lb - well done MMT.
I managed my first day of being good diet wise yesterday, happy with that. Just need the patience that comes with trying to lose weight now.

I'm really struggling with sw at the moment. I lost 4 pounds then lost interest. Remarkably didn't put anything extra on over Christmas. I've resubsctibed for 2 months but I find it so hard to stick to. Need to have a think. I have about a stone and a half of baby weight to lose. Thanks for the food for thought! Well I did WW years ago, and have managed to put all I lost back on. Part of it is laziness - there may not be now, but certainly when I did it there was a lot of weighing and measuring involved, and the faff of that just meant that after a while I drifted out of the habit...there are a few other factors involved as well, but mostly I realised a while back, I need to eat less and move more. For me, "diets" just don't work - they are either not sustainable, or I instantly start thinking of all the things I "can't have" and immediately want ALL of them! :rotfl:
The "Beyond Chocolate" book is worth a read if you can find a copy. It focuses a lot on making you stop, and think, before you eat, and on removing the "mindless eating" thing that it's so easy to fall into the trap of.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thank you EssexH, I will have a look at that book. I can't be bothered with all the weighing and counting, and I know it's something I won't stick to over time.
I can already feel I'm getting slimmer - my 'walking' jeans that were on the tight side at Xmas and had to be air dried after washing are now comfortable right out of the drier, bordering on being slightly loose. I have a bit more energy too. I'm being careful about not eating a lot of white bread/sugar/carb kind of foods, and am eating a lot more fruit, veg, seeds and nuts. I don't feel deprived of anything so far. If I do, I'll have a little of what I want and then get right back to eating more healthily.
The gym sounds a bargain Chandelier, if there was one that cheap anywhere near me I'd join it and see how I got on. As the cheapest one around here is aprox £30 a month with a 12 month min. contract, I will stick to walking for now.
Good for you Dolly! I am motivated and doing well at the minute, but I have months and months ahead of me, I don't expect to be anywhere close to my ideal weight until late next autumn. And then there will be the whole keeping it off. I am hoping to make some permanent changes in my lifestyle so that when I am down to my ideal weight, it will be routine for me to eat well and exercise and maintaining a decent weight won't even be an issue.
I feel for you Crunchy - they say that last stone is the hardest to get off. I wouldn't know about that, as I have so many to lose before I get to the last one! I hope you find something that works for you xx0 -
Misty, that's exactly the reason I decided to join because it was so cheap. There are lots of them about.. big company named th3gym. You may be surprised if there is one close to you. Maybe not. It's clearly a no thrills gym- which is what I want. I don't like all the extras of spas/jacuzzi and what not. I just want to be able to go to a environment under my control and do as I please. I also don't need an induction as not compulsory which is a big one for me. It's 24 hours and unmanned at times. I'm just thinking I can go late at night if I'm particularly struggling to sleep. I hope I can keep this up.
I think I'm definitely going to focus on the eat less, move more mantra. When I was on faceyb there was a group that was really helpful.
Last night I was tempted to buy a Starbucks whilst at boys activity.i resisted and thought about where money best spent!!
I may see if I can download or get an ebook of said book EH recommended. If I find it I wouldn't mind emailing it on to someone.
Hope you have a great day Misty. I've kind of rambled on here. Thank goodness it's the weekend though. Any plans?Chandelier.

Can i give a tiny tiny weight loss tip or two these do help. Add green tea into your daily routine and if you can afford it CLA tablets. Green tea is a great cutting/weight loss helper, all the mad lean runners i know swear by it.

holland and barrett sell them too, both really really help with weight loss another easy gimme is ensuring you drink 2 litres of water a day this will help your body not retain fluid hence net result more weight loss.

I am definitely going to look into that Scott, anything that helps me lose the weight and is not harmful is probably worth a shot.
I'm not doing anything exciting this weekend Chandelier, I am meeting up with a friend I haven't seen in a while for a coffee, aside from that I'll just get things done around the house and get some work done online. The wind is really cold and strong, I may not venture out for much of a walk unless it dies down a bit. I hate getting all wrapped up for the cold and then getting my heart rate up a bit and getting too hot. I end up having to carry a bunch of stuff that I've taken off. I've worn a backpack to put it in but it's not very comfy. It's times like this when I wish we had a gym with day passes or no contract!
Let me know if you find that book and also what you thought of it!0 -

Unfortunately Scott, I live in a very small town in a rural part of the UK and there is only one gym.
I'm just popping on for a second to say hello before dashing off again! I've had a mad few days rushing around and today is going to be the same. I have two mystery shops to do so am happy that at least some of my rushing today will be paid.
I've not had time to think about food and have been keeping what I do eat very healthy, I've managed to lose a total of 6lbs so far. It may sound a lot in the time frame but I am really overweight so the first 20-30 lbs tend to come off pretty quickly, it's the ones after that that are a struggle! I'll add it to my sig to keep me on track.
I hope everyone is doing well, and it's lovely to see you back, Smolly! xx0
