Renting my storage in garden

  • He has a business running in Amazon where you can see all his trade. Sorry, what you mean by this has scam written all over it ?
  • 1) he could claim that there are more valuable items in the shed that are stolen and as he's paying you to store them there get you to claim against your insurance
    2) he could therefore use your address as a 'business address' as the goods are stored there which may let him run up credit etc to your address
    3) he may store property in the shed which doesn't belong to him and use it as a front to sell on stolen goods

That's three possible worries I've thought of, there may well be more.

Or, alternatively, he could be a nice guy and everything is legitimate. But I'd be very, very cautious.

Basically it's up to you. We can only give our opinions and the consensus is that you should not go ahead with this.

not strange. He has a business on Amazon and selling sunglasses. I can see his products and all other stuff, address is matching with his driving license copy, lots of sales transactions on amazon etc. So need a place to store cases.

What did the name on the licence say?

    D.Boy, A.Daley?
  • I am not sure if I can share his name here. But, I have copy of his driving license, copy of his latest utility bill, TV license invoice, company registration and VAT number, I can see the same company details on Company register database so I can cross check, and a company on Amazon with the same address which has 600 sun glasses sales and more than 500 feedback in last 2 years.

It is not D. Boy or A.Daley.

Why doesn't he keep the cases with the sunglasses? Where does he store those?

I agree, seems a bit strange....

just checked big yellow storage. The one a few minutes away from my home charges £460 per month.

Apologies - I misread your original post as 30sq ft. A little different - £460pm sounds about right for 30sq m.

    It still sounds fishy though.

He sells 600 units in 2 years. At what? £5 each say? And he's signing up to £2400 a year storage. Wow.

And willing to store his stuff in an unlocked unit.

    Wow.

    Just no.
