Reporting an abandoned car?

Who do you report it to? Is it the police or someone else?
There's a car that's been parked sort of part on the road, lot on the pavement, part in a bus stop on the main road since at least early Saturday morning, probably late in to Friday. There's no houses around so it's not like someone has parked it there & then walked to their house.

First check whether it's taxed or not - https://vehicleenquiry.service.gov.uk/ then check on your local council's website about abandoned vehicles.0

if I want to park my car on your street and go on holiday I WILL do , providing the vehicle is legal and I am not breaking any parking lawsSave a Rachael

What makes you think it is abandoned rather than parked?0

Local council website is your best bet but good luck getting them to actually do anything about it.0

The way it's been 'parked' if you can call it thatWhat makes you think it is abandoned rather than parked?
Where it's been 'parked' - you just don't park there. I could google maps it & show you but you'll have to take my word for it.
Being in a bus stop which would then force buses to stop in the main road right where the filter lane is about to end.
I understand it's the way of MSE to challenge the OP at all times & that's fine. I'm used to it. Not saying that's what you're doing but i can see where this will be heading

Oh & the fact that according to that link, the car is taxed but has no MOT.0

Well if it's taxed it has every right to be on the road and your council will not view it as abandoned, and certainly not after only 3 days. If, however, it's still there in 3 weeks time then by all means ring 101 and report it.JustAnotherSaver wrote: »Oh & the fact that according to that link, the car is taxed but has no MOT.0 -
Interestingly, looking at the Highway Code, it doesn't say that parking in a bus stop is illegal (Rule 243 says "DO NOT", as opposed to "You MUST NOT").0

I'd just report it to 101 (if you can get them to pick up the phone, I gave up and found an email address when I wanted to report a theft), if it's been stolen then I expect they'll get it towed or contact the owner to collect it.0
