  • Well done you lady! We're on a kind of frantic what do we have and eat it.

It should be lighter but I'm just so cold. I'm craving tonnes of carbs and often potatoes (free from the garden) appear to be my go to in so many variations.

Who knew I was such a tattie girl.

Almost negative bargains today when dropping car for MOT etc - some puds for his lunch and some muffins (20p/12 markles) for the snowdrop office cake tin. A packet of ham and some baby tatties for 50p.

Almost not worth the bother but we were in town and that was the choices.

Sundays appear to be a rubbish day for a wee yellow sticker.

I can see into my freezer now RT how about you?

I'm trying to talk to himself about swapping some of our eating out (of which he foots the bill) for saving for Canada funds. I reckon we can get back in 2 years if we ditch a bit of luxury.

    :)
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
Total debt as of 28/4/19 £7867.38:eek:

    In reverse order...

(We are voting right?) OH & I vote for the Canada :T:T:T:T over luxury option!;):j:j:j ...not that we are biased or anything right?

    ...Um - freezer...space... um well...

    ...suppose I should qualify...

top drawer - filled with bananas & cooked veg
next drawer - lotsa room - it's the meat drawer -we've been eating that instead of buying
next drawer - packed with chook bones to be used & actual bone broth as well as uncooked veg
last drawer - um - overly full - it's the cheese drawer - we stocked up 'by accident' in the post-xmas - clear out what consumers don't buy sales

... so that answer to your question is not really...;):o:o:o

...but on the other hand - store cupboard is slowly diminishing - we can now see shelf space...

...inherited weird foods slowly being used up...

Good morning! Good to see you back from under the snowdrops.

I have actually finally made it to the bottom of our chest freezer - yay! I even turned it off. Still have the fridge-freezer for basics but have eaten up all the garden produce from the last couple of years.

Now with a new garden there probably won't be the same volume of produce at least at first - haven't even figured out a place for the veg plot yet.

I confess I'm a tattie girl too, I love them in all their forms!

  • Builder came from work to look at roof original quote from man who didn't come was 300. The man was up a ladder for half hour plugged leaks and charge me £25.

Slight difference there aside actually turning up.

That's amazing, very glad the other guy didn't turn up although surprised he didn't when he could have made £300 for £25-worth of work!
  • We had friends over for the weekend; on Sat morning dragged them out to spend a few hours chopping back brambles and scrub in a local meadow, then Sat evening talked them into coming out in the rain to rescue toads! At least they will have something different to tell their colleagues about today!
  • Visits to you sound like fun Trog - can we all come?! :rotfl:

Hurrah for bargainous chickens Stripes - and for escaping the snowdrop madness for a day on Friday too- much needed I'm guessing?

Another vote for swapping some luxury type stuff for another Canada trip too!

Come on over - all welcome - we can find jobs for everyone : )
  • We do like an overstocked cheese shelf dears.

Good morning loving the chat on here.

    Another day off who knew.

We are hosting two diff pals on diff journeys - one night overcross so I've taken a 1.39 chicken out for tea.

I know how to spoil people.

    :D

Trog sounds like we are all on our way to you :)

I've to be in Oxfordshire at end of April for a wedding. Need to fathom that one.

Paid dug walker/cleaner - its actually costing £15 to clean the house.

That's a bargain for sanity and clean floors.

Builder, yes Trog I know its crazy eh, we're about to ask tame builder to look at putting shower into spare bedroom. And, perhaps shelve the soon to be pantry.

I never knew there were tame ones.

Had 7 hours in my own garden yesterday. Hedge pruned and started shredding to top up bark path. I do like a bit of circular economy.

    Meal plan to do.

Sat us +2 - roast chook veg from garden/stores
Sun us + 1 roast dinner pie me thinks
Mon me minus DH (Cambridge) minus visitor (glasgow) - cauli cheese
Tues me minus DH + 1 = omlettes
    Wed us + 1 = spag bog
Thurs us + 1 = curry or fried rice

Couple soups to portion up for lunches, as I was stirring soup on the stove as I hacked back the hedge. Was a bit freaked tackling our hedge until I was tasked to cut a large prunus hedge at work, which was as long as my garden. Mine seemed tiddly after that. LOL.

    Multi tasking or what.

I appear to have been paid, which is lovely isn't it.

Work is a bit full on, interviewing students for MA this week. All go. Passing on the flower love.

    :D

Reduced chook dinner - my mouth is watering!

Hooray :j:j:j for time spent in your own garden - must be very satisfying

Monthly pay happened here as well - must go through budgeting app & assign money to the appropriate categories - OH is a bit worried his balance is so high :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: but I've assured him that March is a worst month for bills!

This debt free things is still very new to us - growing up the Mr. thought bank statements only came in red!
