Pips & Cheery - thank-you for your support & hugs! Nice to know I'm not the only one who has BIG oops in life. (As you know these trials can leave one feeling a bit fragile!) Now need to formulate a plan to bring in what we 'lost' - I can see some research into selling on @mazon & 'bay of e' might be in my future.

GP - so true what you say about feeling validated & respected - it is sooooooooo very important - I'm learning how much that can be a two way street these days - workmates have been struggling to polite & mature exchanges - am often left feeling like the ref at a boxing match!

Well done for taking a stand Pippi!

RT if it's any consolation I'm sure we've all done stupid and expensive things from time to time. I recently sold our old tumble drier and offered to deliver it - I put it in the back of the car (estate) and slammed the door - only it wasn't quite far enough in so the back window hit the corner of the drier and shattered! The repair cost almost ten times what I got for the drier.

I didn't admit that to anyone - just found a place that could fix it straight away, I didn't want to confess to being so stupid

I think most of us can lay claim to "What was I THINKING?!" moments, can't we? Ahhh....learn from mistakes and move on time I think? No point in beating yourself up (or indeed letting others do the same) over something that has probably made you far more cross with yourself than anyone else could ever be!

Stripes that LIST!!!:eek::eek: I feel like falling over just looking at it. Jeez Louise!

Hurrah to being missed at work - quite rightly though I should say - of COURSE they missed you! :T

    How's the jet lag?

  • Dear hearts I hope we are all OK Jet lag is a little diminishing EH but I am tired although work is beyond silly and they decided as a first week back treat to close the road to work so I can have a diversion.

I do like a good list only a couple things left.

Hugs Trog. thats the kind of thing I do except it was a stove glass door and a twig which was just too long.

I know this is a little naughty - but OH's been selected for his review and photo of him skiing out in BC to win another holiday.

Its free and not too fiddly if anyone wanted to vote for him and see what a show off he is please do, I'd love to go back.

    Here's the link

    Mucho thanks xx

  • Woo thanks chaps - it was a lovely lovely lovely holiday.

Beanie I hope you're well, my its frosty out there - brr! Keep warm

Cheery thank you :) the train picnic sounds like a lovely idea I shall think on as I drive round my diversion this am although the drive is nice, I shall not attempt porridge and tea whilst I am doing it.

    :D

Up with the skylarks - had a 'mate date' last night so woop that was nice, always seems a bit eipc after work but it was grand.

Cleared out fire and managed to get one basket of the last of the wood together must prioritise either chopping logs OR (shock horror) buying enough for the next week or so but that means spending money on fuel not sure about that at all. :P

Must do a wee list and catch up on banks etc.

    Wee treat from work.

    They are coming.

  • Financial stuff.

So one of the goals for me this year is to pay off OD's, overpay into mortgage and to get myself into the black.

Whilst I am working towards this in my head, I'm not actively making in roads.

So its January and we're in a new job so need to sort that.

So it is now and herewith I so do delcare, that we shall reduce our overdrafts each month by £50. I'm aiming to have no more than 500 each by the end of the year.

Ideally yes I can work on one and close that account, which is perhaps a better idea.

But whilst mulling this I pledge to reduce overdraft burden by £100/month from salary. I did pay one off totally but it just crept up again. Silly sausage.

Also, as I'm wanting to help OH with mortgage overpayments even in a small way I shall use the £200 housekeeping (two folks, two mutts, one chook, and all our toiletries/sundries) - any extra left each month will go into the joint mortgage busting account.

Mortgage is 15 years and 9 months.

    Overdrafts x 2 £1000

  • So this is our new grocery month - £200 has just hit the account and is now in its 'online storecupboard'.

Must do a meal plan that's just not so adhoc. Have plenty tatties in the garden still and aside milk, mutt food, cordial and fizzy water, I'm not sure we need much this week either. Still have tatties.

    J. artichokes and apples available from work, if I add sugar to my list I can make my own cordial from those (apples, not J artichokes).

I've gone back to just tap water but OH is a stickler for a bit of pop, which use to be branded and now is largely HM with fizzy water.

    Slow steps.

    So this month £200/0
