Hmmm - I may have done some deep freeze diving this evening...

    ...and discovered...

An organic leg of lamb (reduced by 75%)...

...long forgotten & long buried under fish sticks, chicken, kale & spinach...

...because our closest neighbours are sheep for most of the year & it breaks my heart to think of the cute little baby lambies being dinner one day...

...but then again it's uber frugal month & no use letting already bought meat languish...

...I may have also found some frozen chicken breast & frozen prawns...

(you know they were all yellow stickered, right?)

So leg is in the fridge defrosting until Thursday & OH will be looking for a dry-rub recipe tomorrow...

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

(btw - is now a good time to randomly mention how much I detest commuting? - first day back is the worst!)

But lamb tastes GOOD...and if we're being realistic, if someone wasn't going to eat them, they wouldn't be there for you to look at...in fact they probably wouldn't be there at all! :D

Yellow stickered awesomeness aplenty there though RT - excellent freezer diving mission I'd say. :T

I'm with Stripes - MrEH doesn't get let loose with the shopping either. Well not on his own - I let him carry the bags sometimes.

Need to try that activator idea for the compost - ta for the link Mrs. I know it's full of worms. Mum bought some for theirs ages ago and they multiplied - a LOT. So we brought a boxful back to ours. They appear to be extremely happy!

  • Hey up me ducks - hope you're all grand.

RT I'm pretty sure our freezers are mainly stickered goods. :) well done on that haul - found some prawns in mine, we must be twins.

:D - yesterday I saved some purple sprouting brocolli from the compost heap. :D they did not deserve to grow and die in vain.

GP I'm sure you'd be proud of my pro veggie actions.

:) well done on the YS venison saussies.

INOD - having been married to a farmer, I pretty much eat anything my thinking is that if they've lived and had a good life (that includes vegetables), they deserve not to be wasted but I get what you mean. I got told I should eat my rabbit as it was bugs bunny.

Didn't see a cartoon for ages, thought I'd eaten him, oh the guilt.

RT first day back for me yesterday, not the same commute as yours (8 miles) but I'm convinced today is Tuesday.

As we depart back in time to your land at the weekend, I'm sure I'm going to be pretty confused through January.

(and the rest of my life I'm sure)

    :D

Yeah, I'd probably have eaten her too, if I'm honest... :p
