Morning Pips! - OH & I will gladly join you in this!

We are continuing our self-challenge of using up at least one thing from the freezer or store cupboard for each meal! All works well in our uber-frugal January plans!

PS - OH has expressed his dislike for the word uber! (Such an old fuddy duddy at times!)

    Decluttering the stores continues...

    Yellow-stickered meatballs from the freezer...
A random jar of tomato mascarpone pasta sauce that I can't remember buying...
...very posh tri-colour pasta inherited from a former boss
    ...grated basics farmer's hand cheese
...and the best bit is that OH produced a very worthy dinner!
(I zapped us some freezer veg to balance it out a bit;))

  • Hey RT uber just means over in German doesn't it?

    :D

    Excellent food and balancing plans.

Our new years day saves were 3 pats of butter when out that would have gone in the bin and some bacon rind (latter went to the dogs, former is being used to make a base for a pasta sauce.

Saved the pea/beans that the ny day dinner wasnt' eaten for chicken.
And a random cracker which landed on the floor.

2nd, saved some well manky mushrooms from fridge and had them in omlette for brekkie and added some into soup at lunch, need eat more of them today.

3rd so far - some reduced chook ready to make pasta sauce with some going over tomatoes and a bit of marrow.

Freezer chocablock with meals/soups etc need to do a bit of an audit for the housesitters. And leave it accessible with tasty treats for them.

    :)

Working from home today back proper tomorrow.

Must look at banks. reminded the boychild he owes me a squillion pounds so he's put £50 into my bank as he's just been paid.

  • Updated the banks etc and paid off the monthly CC in full.

Paid a good chunk to the 'things we spent on and DS loaded onto the card card' - its far from cleared its still at crazy scary. Need sort that out.

Uploaded whats app to phone and also banking apps - pointless having a phone which is whizzy if I can't use the good bits like banking on it.

I've got to see if there's a bank app for the 0% card - well reminded Mrs Stripes!

And HNY to you & yours! :D

If the weather gets colder than it is currently our food waste will increase, sadly, just by the fact that we'll not be able to squeeze anything much else into the compost bin. I think digging that out is a job for an upcoming weekend day with no plans, actually.

Pips - can you believe OH sent the roast I ordered back to MrS?

    :eek::eek::eek:

He's taking this newly retired house husband thing a bit far - told me it was too expensive - then I told him it was for 3 meals - he said too late I've sent it back - so now we are three meals short of carnivorous bits! - SIGH SIGH SIGH

Oh well - we have soup & we have veg - it will have to do for the rest of the week!!!
