Barclays that who I applied 2nd current account with
They told me to go branch with id to discuss application0 -
I would to like have
Current Accounts
Barclays Current A/C (Bills/Rent to mum) (Living at home as cheaper)
Barclays Current A/C (Spending money)
TSB Classic Plus (For saving/interest)
Barclays Everyday Saver (Saving)
Barclays Instant Cash ISA Issue 1 (Saving)
Barclaycard Cashback Amex/Visa (Spending)
I wouldn't worry unduly about Barclays current account they are much better current accounts available.
Regarding Barclays saving accounts the interest rates on the everyday saver are due to go down again in December and you will get only 0.2% which even with today's poor rates, can easily be beaten.
Barclay's used to have some decent saving rates but in my opinion they have given up trying to be competitive for their retail customers.0 -
I know but wanted 2nd barclays current account for spending
so will I be rejected for 2nd account or do I just need to bring id to open account?0 -
so will I be rejected for 2nd account or do I just need to bring id to open account?
But to be serious for a moment, haven't you already answered your own question in post #5. Why would they say "it's fine", and ask you to take in ID, only to then reject you when you turn up with it?0 -
ok thanks so basically they just wanna talk to me in branch about it and me to show id so 2nd account can be opened only if it's a basic account0

Around 6 months ago I had a savings account and 2 current accounts with Barclays and also had a bank account and ISA with Halifax and had no problems with opening a second current account with Halifax0

The problem with having more than one account with the same bank is:
1) The Natwest effect - what happens if there is a banking crash? Both accounts frozen.
2) You WILL get confused between the accounts and waste much time looking at the account numbers to make sure you're spending from the right account.
With Barclays, it's a bit easier with their "design your card" service but still doesn't solve point 1.0
