forgot to add middle name on ticket

  • The other half  I've said it's ok, and she's ok. The agent, Travel Trolley, was saying if I wanted to change, it would cost £25 per passenger. Such a rip.

Take no notice of Travel Trolley. They're not travel agents, just an online booking company, with a less than stellar reputation!

Middle names do not matter. Travel Trolley website doesn't even ask for middle names so it just goes to show the 'agent' you spoke hasn't a clue lol. The only time they ask for a middle name is for the TSA info if it's a flight to the USA. That info doesn't appear on eticket info or on boarding passes.

If you'd have booked direct with Qatar they don't ask for middle names either.

Thanks for the info. Yes, TravelTrolley were the one of the top three that came up in SkyScanner. When I book with these online travel companies I generally do my utmost so I don't have to liase/talk with these companies - "just make the booking." I do check some of the well known companies like lastminute.com, airline etc. Just not as a good deal on this occasion.

If it's any concellation to the TravelTrolley haters, I skipped Skyscanner and went to the TravelTrolley via. QuidCo and got £9
    Student loan: Cleared.

I hope being misinformed about middle names is the least of your worries having booked with a really shonky company. There are some nightmare complaints about them. Keep a careful eye on your booking! Quite often the 'good deal' turns out to be an expensive one. Lastminute.com are even worse since they were bought by Bravofly. The airline is the best place to book flights. Failing that a reputable company like Trailfinders or Netflights.

I have on one occasion had an issue with flights and middle names - the airline hadn't printed it on my boarding pass and security refused to allow me through to departures as the name on the boarding pass didn't exactly match my passport. Having been marched back to check-in, the agent wrote my middle name on in pen and this was deemed acceptable! This was for a domestic fight in Vietnam, so is unlikely to be an issue elsewhere...

I've used Travel Trolley on a number of occasions for flights and hotels and never had any issues, always got the advertised price and cashback paid. They've got better since they started doing live bookings, in the past bookings were manually processed which led to errors and advertised prices not being honoured.

I used to work with a guy from Somalia, every generation takes the name of the father and adds 1 more name to the front for the male child. By simply removing names he could trace his male ancestry back 2000 years. Unfortunately that meant he had more middle names that just about any paperwork could handle. He didn't know them without looking them up. I wonder how he gets on .....

Thanks, I'm sure I've excluded the middle name in the past, and it's been fine. No problem, the process to the USA - make no mistake!

This is incorrect. If travelling to the USA it is only the APIS that needs the middle name as displayed on passport.

In Vietnam many people have the same name, differentiated only by middle name, hence your issue and you're right, you will not encounter it outside Vietnam.
