Day 2. Loved his walk in the park. Less impressed by the frost.

You should think about training him as a PAT dog. He'd be a natural ...

If it's required as a long-term solution - maybe a car 'upgrade' to something that can double as a portable kennel? Berlingo, Transit Connect, Kangoo etc. stylee - lack of windows can actually help keep cool, you can get them fitted with vents, silver foil sheets over the top in summer, etc. - I know some people who take their dogs out in their vans all year around and a proper setup can be safe and comfy for dogs even in hot/cold extremes.

I don't leave mine in my van, but yes , last three vehicles have been a small van for the dogs. It works very well.

Final day of "take your Gitdog to work" week. I worked from home yesterday, so his confusion has reached maximum levels, leading to him parking himself by the front door with a somewhat worried expression as I got ready to go out.
Several hours in the hospital car park, followed by a stroll round and some "what's he doing here" looks from patients, followed by half my lunch. This was not intentional - the harness had more slack in it than I realised.
A detour to a local park where all the other owners scurried off as soon as they saw us, which we felt was very antisocial given he was on his best behaviour and made no attempts to eat anyone.
Then a long-suffering drive home - I think he may have had enough of the car by now. Extra nice to Nan, on her return!

    T W A T Dog, more like.

He sounds perfectly normal as Gitdogs go. Except he didn't eat the car. Or leave a stinky protest on your seat.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.
