Delay with Broadband & Line connection

Is Sky the only provider you will consider for your service ?, have you tried using another provider ?, even if you don't want to use anyone other than Sky, you could try ordering service from someone else, you can always just quit the application before you are commited to it, if you are unable to order with other company's, presumably it's a database problem (perhaps your address is missing, check the Post Office postal address database and check your individual address is shown) if you can order with someone else, it's a Sky problem0

My developer has an Openreach contact who is now involved in my complaint to everybody I can think of being "escalated". I spoke directly to the OR manager who escalated the problem and wonder of wonders I had 2 Openreach engineers at my property on 21st Dec who told me they were going to re-route my line as there was some sort of problem with my original routing. They plugged their test kit into my outside cables and went away for 20 minutes to sort out the problem They told me I would be connected within 2 days. Just a formality they said when they had submitted their paperwork/report.
Guess what.....2 days later and.....yes youve guessed ....still not connected.
A latest excuse from OR was "cars parked" preventing work.
Had an email from an OR person Ramesh somebody who has been "keeping an eye on my problem" telling me there is ducting work problem and next report will be 12/1/2017.
Had a call from Sky today telling the same.
All sky are doing is relaying the OR reports. Sky were not aware of the OR engineers visit this week.
Regarding applying to other service providers...tried BT a while ago and they told me that they could only supply me when I have a supply.
I did write to Santa asking for a Broadband connection so will await his visit on 25th. There is as much chance of this happening on Christmas day as there is of me getting my other request for a Ferrari.
Hey ho.....watch this space for more updates.
Happy Christmas to everybody. 0 -

Colin....thanks for your response. I have used the openreach contact forms...3 different ones. This is where my responses are coming from. Sky just repeat what openreach tell me. I have resigned to waiting and waiting and waiting. Might try my local MP or newspaper or Watchdog or Rogue Traders or Childline or the Samaritans .0

Tried BT today with an application. Same story. Cannot give me a date until openreach have completed the work as I do not have a landline. Could not tell me what work. Sky update due 4th January.0

Great news.....due to having posted 10 times on this forum, I have been awarded a Badge by an mse badger.

I was told on Friday 6th December by Sky that Openreach have confirmed all work is now completed. Have been promised a phone call on Monday 9th to arrange a connection.
It may be near to completion after 6 months.
Will be holding my breath.0 -

Hopefully you mean you won't be holding your breath otherwise we'll never know the outcome0 -
Bought an office conversion 19 years ago, in PHASE 1.
The elevator had power surge problems, and kept getting stuck.
Reminds me of the transporter failure, in Star Trek, where "Enterprise, what we got back, didn't live long."
The water pressure was far too high, and the plumbing burst (probably a washing machine) in the flat below mine, which destroyed the basement flat below that. They had moved in ALREADY!
Obviously the building work was continuing, during the day, so major banging and drilling was the order of the day. All the grief was eventually worth it, though, as the value has gone up four times. When Cross Rail eventually comes online, I guess six times.
So, grin and bear it. The future is bright, well, that's the problem, it's not here yet.0 -
