You’re sounding on the ball with the money organisation as per usual 👍January spends - £587.583

Prolific has an algorithm which means if you do a lot of surveys you go on the back burner for a bit. I had a couple of tumbleweed weeks after Christmas. This week, somewhat annoyingly, I’ve had some longer well paying ones pop up that I can’t do during work time so have had to let go.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.4 -
Ahh thanks elsien - yes, that does seem likely. Fingers crossed it'll pick up again soon. In the meantime I might just cash out what's in there. I made sure my profile questions were updated this morning too so that may help.
On the MF thing - I'd honestly say it's achievable for almost anyone if you choose to make it a goal and assuming your product allows OPs. Even if you just round your existing contractual payment up to a round amount to keep things tidy, that's overpaying and will make an impact on the interest you pay overall. Our view in the first place was that we could only do a little, so we'd do that little, and then see what happened from there.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Even paying a little extra helps bring the mortgage years down. We never paid over by much but it soon knocked years off.January spends - £587.584

We have just before Christmas rounded our mortgage repayment to the nearest £100 pound. It is only just over £5 over payment but I guess every little helps.
When we have a few more balances cleared we will probably look to increase the overpayment.4 -
We're paying the exact amount at the minute, having overpaid loads last year. I think we could round up to the nearest £50 without too much bother though, which would chip away at it eventually.5

Currently rounding the mortgage payment up to the nearest 100 and also clearing out the pence. It is only 10 to 12 overpayment per month atm but the mortgage calculator tells me that will save 100s in interest over the course of the mortgage.
With everything else increasing atm my plan to pay 100 each month is on hold until we are 100% sure everything essential can be covered.4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! Redo - PC = as in the Cone of Pine? I was "removed from their panel" for some reason - no idea what as they never bothered telling me and they were quite sniffy when I asked what precisely I was meant to have done. If I see an invitation to rejoin I will probably take it but I'm not actively looking.
It's fab to see so many already doing the chipping away thing, and realising that the sooner you start with it the biggest impact you can make too. If I regret one thing about how we did stuff it was that we overpaid nothing for the first 5 years - looking back now that's infuriating but there's nothing to be done about it now, and we'd certainly know better for any future mortgage! I think right now trying to balance the currently rising prices for general cost of living alongside the potential impact from interest rates increasing (which let's be honest - is a definite) has to be one of the biggest financial challenges most savvy MSE'ers have.
So - I now have TWO of the N@tionw1de flex instant savers - the joint one with MrEH which will be the feeder account for the regular savers in there, and a single one which is now called "Gym Neutral fund" - I kicked that off last night by withdrawing the £10.xx from PA. we discussed last night allowing that you can open multiples that it's probably worth gradually transferring all the "pots" accounts over to those too - I'll do one at a time but ultimately the old e-savings accounts are paying effectively no interest and I suspect it's unlikely that's going to change. MrEH assures me that he should be able to sort out all his money shuffling stuff today - that will now include the £12.45 extracted from TBC which he'll pay against his 0% card.
CC took a hit of £249 this morning to pay for the car repairs - I'll transfer that across from the car account once it's actually showing rather than pending. The good news is that still leaves a nicely healthy balance in the car account ahead of the costs for mine getting its service/MoT test later in the month. MrEH's car is now back home and apparently all seems to be OK.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
