RS that is honestly starting to look like my only option. I'd as soon have it before Christmas to be honest - it'll be well over a month away otherwise.
Cheery that sounds like an interesting idea - and demystifying death and making it less taboo is so important IMO. Let's be honest, it's life's great certainty isn't it, we may as well face it with a bit of vicky sponge and a brew!
I've treated myself to the Jacquie Lawson advent calendar. I do most years, although missed 2020 as wrapped up in all the stress around the pandemic I think. This years is London, and is gorgeous, I'm going to enjoy clicking my way round that over the next couple of weeks! (I was prompted by a mention of the website on SSG's diary which I'm currently in the middle of reading!)🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Well without question today is not a NSD, the haircut saw to that in no uncertain terms! I have to say though it feels worth it - it’s a really nice cut, and exactly what I wanted, AND she was polite about the amateur attempts I made to tidy things up during Lockdown. 😂 Above all it feels SO nice to have shorter hair, and at least something approaching a style back! I could have got it cheaper near home (she charges London prices) but the convenience of just being able to leave work at 5pm, walk, 4 doors up he road, and still be home by normal time as I had to wait for MrEH anyway was definitely worth the extra cost.I decided that the chilli I cooked on Sunday could stretch to an extra portion so MrEH will have that for lunch on Thursday now. It was very tasty!Update to the lists:
TaDa!
- Printed router return label
- MrEH has booked his tyres
- hair cut booked & now done.
- Started clearing email inbox
- updated apps on phone
- MrEH has packed the router up ready to post at the weekend
- charged watch
- Money shuffle done to deal with haircut cost
- called and booked pub for Thursday night- Christmas candle holders out and lit
To do
- Decide whether to move the bike at lunchtime - decided not
- sort out order for oil/mayonnaise before the discount code expires
- wrap C’s presents
- meal plan for next week
- check camera kit over and pack bag
I’m really looking forward to heading up to Lincoln on Thursday - feels like ages since I’ve been up. The weather is currently looking a bit crap, which is annoying, but can’t be helped. Should be a good laugh regardless, and it’s always ace to go to the pub too!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

We love Lincoln. Spent a lot of time there in the 13 years we had the boat moored at the marina just outside Lincoln.
We have not been for a while now. Must get around to arranging a trip there ourselves. We know that there is a car park by the castle where we can park overnight.
Must get round to booking that in. Would make a nice weekend to book in for after Christmas I think3 -
Trip to the Dambusters Inn at Scampton would surely be a must while in the area RS?!...
(That's where we're off to tomorrow night!)
Still really chuffed with my hair this morning even after a night's sleep and a 4.5 mile cycle. Must remember to pick up my dinky hairbrush and shove it in my work bag though!
Got all my friend's presents wrapped last night as planned. Didn't do too many of the rest of the stuff on the list though - we got as far as thinking about a meal plan and then decided to put it off for tonight or Friday. Shopping will be Saturday morning so I just need to know by then what I need on my list.
On the subject of lists I've started building a list for a stock-up shop when we get home in the New Year as I figured it would be easier to do it as I thought of things that would be needed, and we've started running through the stuff in the storecupboard a bit. My hope is that I will be able to continue to use the method of always having a list on the go for the next time we stock up, and I can then just re-stock every couple of months without having to scratch around thinking about what's needed. Another job for the weekend is to properly review the storecupboard and add anything else that will be needed to the current list.
Survey stuff is slowing down as it often seems to at this time of year
Prolific: Still £14.75 paid/£2.44 pending

- Start getting stuff organised for the Hebrides
- Finish wrapping MrEH's presents on Saturday when he's out🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Just checked banking and all the mid-month payments have gone. I need to get the CC money shuffle done then I'll know where we're at in terms of buying PB's etc. I'm hoping that Shell don't try to take another payment (they shouldn't) and that there is only the small EDF DD still to go.
edit - shuffle is done. Can't decide whether switching money across as we go makes life easier, or not. Hmmm. One to ponder I think. Anyway, I'm pleased with how little had to come from the joint account - it would have been even less had MrEH remembered his last Oyster top-up was meant to come from the joint account! I now need to decide whether the next car fil-up (probably mine, tomorrow or Friday) will come from the joint account or go on the card. It certainly *could* go on the joint account though, and we'd still be able to buy our hoped for chunk of PB's this month. (And I need to remember to add an additional £25 to that as the odd amount is annoying me now.)
Food spending came in under budget but not by a huge amount - that's fine, the budget is really only a nominal figure at the moment anyway and also includes some household bits being bought, I think there is also some christmas stuff in that lot too in fairness. I might transfer a little bit of the surplus to the food account to begin bolstering it, or on the other hand I might decide that The next CC statement will show a FAR lighter food spend as Hebrides stuff isn't included in that budget.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

I've followed your good example EH and booked myself a haircut next week. It's been two years more or less and I've been cutting mine the same way that you have. High pony and my own scissors......5

It does reach the point where you start to feel that enough is enough doesn't it! I think I reached that point about 6 months ago though so it was about time - hopefully you'll be as delighted with yours as I am with mine!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡
