Oh wow L how exciting!! we've managed to explore quite a bit of Skye in bite-sized chunks on our trips up - usually in the handful of hours between rolling off one ferry and needing to be on the other! Got a pal who lives just up the road from the ferry at Uig, too! :D

We deliver up there at certain time of the year, fancy a job:p. Though you might need to take your truck license first:)

Forgot to declare - filled the car up earlier. £55. Diesel is creeping up in price again, slowly but surely. :( That ought to cover me for the month though as far as I can think, unless we take my car to Birmingham. .

If it makes you feel any better, we buy 4000+ litres a week:eek:

Bed has been changed so fresh bedding tonight - love that!

You may not want to read the next bit.....I'm getting the feel of fresh bedding a lot at the moment. New puppy and one of the older dogs has not taken it well and for the third time in two weeks, she's had a wee on my bed.......:( Ewwww!
  • :rotfl::rotfl: Bugslet your final paragraph above reminds me of on one occasion waking up to the sound of MrEH stretching out next to me, then saying "Urgh!" as his feet hit the spot where, at some stage overnight, the cat had been sick... :rotfl::rotfl: SO glad she chose his side, rather than mine!

The diesel thing - yes indeed, I used to work in transport, and the bills for filling the trucks were always  This was at the height of the "very pricey fuel" from some years back, too...

Well yesterday was a quite FABULOUS day. We went to Duxford, as planned, for the remembrance service. Actually saw 2 in the end - as we joined the Royal Anglian Regiment's service for the 2 minute silence at 11, and then went in for the whole of the "main" one at 1pm, too. while wandering I noticed at the "Classic Wings" people were advertising a special "on the day" price for their short flights in a DeHavilland Dragon Rapide - a classic 1930's biplane - £45.00. Watched one of the flights go up - they were up for just over 10 minutes I reckoned, and I was really tempted. MrEH then offered to pay for it for me for an early Christmas present, and the deal was done! :D Absolutely amazing experience, I ended up on the final flight of the day, there were just 5 of us, and I was seated right at the very back which was where I wanted to be. The light was beautiful, especially with the autumn colour everywhere, and we ended up being up for around 20 minutes which was brilliant - needless to say I took a LOT of photos! :p Having now had a look at the company who do the flight's website I've spotted that they do several more packages, including a flight over London in the same aircraft, which REALLY appeals, so I may well be saving up to do that I think!

Meal plan is proving a little "fluid" as although I checked we still had eggs, I failed to check how many. The TWO that were left in the box means that I had baked eggs last night while MrEH went all out with sardines on toast! :rotfl: It also means that an omelette for him tomorrow evening will not be an option. As I have some of the sliced chicken breast left I'm bringing Soup forwards to tonight, I think - I'm going to add some of the chicken and some of the merguez beans to make it more substantial. Veggie stir fry will still do tomorrow, as planned... Another option is to roast off some sweet potato to add to the soup in place of the chicken, and add the chicken in to the stir-fry, instead. Hmmm. In any event it sounds as though meals this week will need to be flexible in any event as MrEH's working days are likely to be longer than normal. This also means the likelihood is that we will be using our own cars, all week, rather than sharing.

That flight sounds fabulous - I love 'old' forms of transport, so much more character than the bland offerings of today.

Bugslet, I share your pain, except my 15-week-old puppy likes to wrestle on the bed with our older dog in the mornings and occasionally excitement means there's a bit of sprinkly puppy leakage.

It is a measure of my housekeeping standards that when it happened on Friday I looked at it, thought, 'It's only a few drops, and I change the bed every Monday anyway,' and left it :o:o

  • :rotfl:I don't feel quite so bad about my failure to lint roller the cat hair off the duvet every night now... there never seems much point when the cat will be back there in a few hours anyway!

I feel there is a small sub-club of - shall we say - pragmatic, realistic? - house cleaning operatives on here:o:D
  • I have cleaners and I love them more than life itself :o Not very MSE, especially since they earn more per hour than I do, but they're vastly more efficient at it than I am, so it probably works out about the same!
  • That plane ride sounds absolutely wonderful EH - but trust you to 'sit at the back to get a longer ride' - that is so MSE :money::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Definitely money well spent though - just the right person to send up - with their camera :D
