Snotty letters asking for evidence to support UC claim when not asked for in applying

Providing evidence numerous times would be an error, providing it once seems perfectly logical.
I disagree, personal circumstances very often change. If someone "forgets" to notify the DWP of a change in circumstances(ie gets a job) which we see very often on here. Does that give a claimant the right to claim unchallenged for as long as they like?debt free, savings in the bank0 -
paragon909 wrote: »So DWP should just give money to anyone who fills in a form, Is that what your suggesting. If you can't be bothered to provide evidence to the "snotty forms" then go find a job or don't claim. Simple really! Most letters DWP send to a claimant are generic type of letter depending on a claimants circumstances, You clearly think you're being victimised and singled out....
Well said ! My Thoughts too0 -

Yes but that's not what I said.
If you have to supply the same evidence numerous times then that is an error.
So for example proof of tenancy for the same period numerous times, NOT proof of tenancy covering different periods.
(in essence im saying what you are saying!)0 -

The OP has provided it once.
Hence why the letter from Wolvs is either an error of itself, or the ID evidence needs to be supplied again due to the DWP maladministration in losing or failing to upload the evidence previously submitted to the Job Centre Plus office by the OP.Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.0 -
Often when queried, the UC national contact centres say to simply ignore the letter from Wolvs, as it was 'computer generated' by the system and it should not have been sent.
Best calling the UC national contact centre to check.
Never, ever assume that a letter has been sent in error. If in any doubt always contact the relevant office as Mersey advised.0 -

The OP hasn't provided it once, or he certainly hasnt stated that.
His title is
'asking for evidence to support UC when NOT asked for in applying'
Which suggests he hasn't been asked for this info before and is now 'fuming mad and upset' that he has been asked for it.
At no point does he suggest that he has already shown them whatever evidence they are asking for. He ONLY mentions ID when he says he gave them ID documents at his meeting. We don't know what the additional info is except for him saying it was 'not asked for in applying.'
He seems to suggest he has been asked to provide 'more' evidence.
Anyway the OP hasnt been back since his initial post so whats the point in arguing over something we dont have enough info on.0 -
I don't see how anyone can help or advise with half a story..0

What evidence exactly are UC asking you to provide that has left you so FUMING?0

I went to Job Centre yesterday and used their phones to contact the office at Wolverhampton, they said ignore the letter, it's just a standard automated reply to goes out to everyone who applies for Universal Credit (apparently, even if you have presented your evidence at the job centre as requested, which I did of course, the letters still go out causing worry and upset needlessly).
