A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

See now, this is what I love about MSE. I had gone to bed 'earlyish' last night, and then lay there awake, werriting about summat that cannot be helped/solved/ameliorated by.... laying a-bed werriting about it!
So I came onto the computer to drop an email to a friend and decided to pop in here......................... And I laughed, and I laughed, and I laughed
And I went back to bed and slept like a log.
Thank you

Good Morning :hello:
Tuesday. TV guide day. I've ordered a battery from mApl1ns (hi-de-hi), and I have had no phone call to say that it is in-store. It has been well over a week. Not impressed. What did I say about hoping I wouldn't regret just plain and simple ordering it online?
We've a thank you note to write for christmas presentsi tell you, I've no idea where the end of December and start of January disappeared to! Time is evaporating!
We had a nsd yesterday. The weather was pants so we didn't venture outmust at least ensure we get some fresh air today, although it seems colder.
Cheery and EH have been variously discussing 'leftovers' and 'use up firsts' on their threads. And it has prompted me to have a ponder. In common with many on MSE I didn't really buy 'extra' for Christmas, as we weren't entertaining/hosting friends/family. So in that respect, i haven't a fridge full of foods that will spoil if not used. However, i have (for very good reasons) already spent over half my grocery budget and we're only a third of the way into January :o So I want to eke out things to get back on track. I did a meal plan on Sunday that concentrated heavily on stores and was 'frugal' as I thought.
But looking at it again, i was ignoring things to be 'used up'.
Therefore, we had leftovers that were converted into a new (different) meal last night, with the addition of 2 things that needed using up, and we will have the veggie version of Cocido tonight, which will use up more 'fresh' produce (which is just starting to wilt a little with 'old' age) out of the fridge, and some frozen pre-cooked chickpeas. That is in preference to a soup that I had put on the planner that is a new to me recipe (a Rick Stein one) that would use store cupboard ingredients (rather than buying more things), but that wouldn't help with utilising things that are in danger of going over.
I'm glad I had the prompt off the girls to look again at my own behaviour, as yet again, I found slackness and room for improvement!
Right, best shift-a-tail-feather and get moving. I've mucho to pack in today.
Thanks for popping by, reading and joining in the fun. Know that it is appreciated. Greatly.
