Good Evening :hello:WannabeFree wrote: »
It's cold here but no matter how much it tried the snow hasn't stuck to the ground today

Thank you WannabeFree - we've had a spiffing day. Yes, we were lucky in that the snow was delightfully 'swirling' about, but has not stuck as yet....... The flakes, for the most part, were smaller, so whilst we walked in it at some points, it didn't really stick to us as such. But yes, it was cold in the wind, and the sun - when it was out - wasn't pushing through any warmth at all.
I made sure that we got out and about for our walk - BG looked about 3 stone heavier than they actually are, and wore most of their outdoor clothes to go outside :rotfl: I made sure they had their blankie too, and it worked, as they were virtually as warm when we got back, as when we went out. :T I myself had 2 coats on too, but that worked too, and I stayed toasty warmBut I am so grateful that there was no ice to contend with.
I've done my money shuffling for next month, so at least the bills will be covered.
Tea this evening was baked potato (cooked last night, and warmed through this evening), lentil bolognese and broccoli. The broccoli was frozen from mrL. I've not bought it before - but buoyed by the success of the mrAl frozen offering, I thought I would give it a go. It was perfectly fine, and I will buy it again. There is a splodge of lentil bolognese left overto freeze for another day.
Today I am grateful for these 3 things;
BG's hearty appetite
books to read aloud
that we got out and about
Ta for popping in. Appreciated.

Good Morning :hello:
For once, I managed to get toasty warm in bed last night - no cold spots, no sweltering and throwing back the covers. Just right. Isn't it amazing the 'quality' of sleep that you get if your temperature is, 'just right'.
We will certainly try to get out and about again today. Fresh air and exercise is so important. It look's like we have had a hard frost overnight, but it's clearly dry cold, rather than moist air falling on cold surfaces. It's (was) still a bit too dark to see clearly.
Tea this evening is going to be Thai coconut, sweet potato and lemongrass soup (link defaults to result 5/6 - scroll through using 'next' on yellow bar to find result 2/6) - made with lemon rather than limes, as I have none.
Dang, spoke too soon. Apparently we have snow falling
Right, best get shifting.

Ha ha - ay, but inod - if your coach friend follows the boys into the sea off Greystones, to do a bit of sea swimming, don't be inspired to follow them - not in this weather - brrrrrrrrr!
I think the recipe makes enough soup to feed a crowd, so don't be fearful of adapting the quantities to suit your needs.

Good Evening :hello:
Yes thank you beanie - we've had another spiffing day. And WannabeFree - we were lucky in that the snow amounted to nowt and stopped altogether after a while, which meant...... we got out and about! :j
We used a newly made/discovered path to get us on our way and i had decided to use a visit to mrA, to see if they stocked (in our particular branch) their own brand jumbo porridge oats. I was only going to go in for a look, but I noticed in the YS section, there were some clementines for 56p instead of 90p. Not a huge discount, but we're out of citrus, and I thought they were an OK price, so I used the remaining pennies in my bank account to purchase 2 nets - which I'm glad I did, as they taste lovelyPlus, our branch actually stock the porridge - which you could knock me down with a feather over, as our branch seems pretty poor on stocks of, y'know, food.... as opposed to food like substances........So they'll get my custom for porridge oats in the future
We popped in for a chat with a friend, and she reckons we're going to have bad weather here in Greying county by the end of the week :eek: But it was nice to see her....:rotfl:There was lovely sunshine - warming sunshine, by the time we were walking out of Greying Town, so it was a pleasure to be out and about. I doubt whether we garnered a smidgen of VitD though, on the basis that there was barely a square centimetre of skin exposed on either of us! :rotfl:
Tea was as slated. It was nice - I did add in some turmeric - as I had some - and it added to the 'sunshiney' nature of the soup
Today I am grateful for these 3 things;
lovely weather - that made life easier, and made me feel good
the opportunity to say goodbye to a new friend as they embark on their next adventure
the opportunity to remember a friend as they passed over to their final resting place.
Swirling snowflakes, swirling emotions, thoughts of friends present and friends passed, streaming sunshine and sunny dispositions, sharing laughter and sharing tears. Thanks for joining me on this thread today.
