Good Morning :hello:
I agree beanie - brand nor cost seems to have any bearing on whether a kettle pours or not. Which kinda defeats the object to me. I often wonder if designers of 'things' ever actually use them. And as for all clothes - baby or adult - being designed by 6ft tall, long-armed, pencil thin hipsters.........;)
Right, the lovely volunteers have got back to me and have accepted my item for donation :j On condition that I can provide proof of purchase to ensure it is not a fake  - for insurance purposes. What a jolly good job I have the receipt - how are we going to go on, in the future, if shops stop printing receipts, 'because our customers no longer want them'....... And our item better not be a fake, as we used it for BG and we got it from that 'posh shop' that is apparently, keen to never be undercut on price
BG slept through the night again :j And as importantly, this baby mumma slept through the night too :j It took an age to drop off to sleep - to the extent I thought I had 'missed' my tea effectiveness slot again - the next thing I know, I wake up, wondering if DH is still in bed, and literally 2 seconds later, the alarm goes. Wow. I'm still congested and BG is still coughing, but I certainly feel a bit more human for some uninterrupted sleep
Today's plans involve making a batch of lentil bolognese - for tea and for the freezer as we like it so. And then we've an appt for DH to meet and will do the appropriate supportive bit there. I also need some pasta if we are having pasta bolognese, or to prep some dirty tatties if we are going to have bolognese with baked tatties. I forgot to say, we had brown basmati rice with our 'beetroot-fest' last night, too.
I need to do my meal-plan for the week today, and update my spending diary.
Right, best crack on I suppose. There is snap to get prepping.
Ta for popping in. It is appreciated.

Yay to good sleep
Have a lovely day

Well, I've deployed my 'common sense' brain cell...... ( No sniggering at the back
) and I am in the middle of making a lentil based cottage pie for tea. It's bolognese under mash, but will avoid the need to run out and buy pasta and will make a better 'main' to put the last of the sprouts alongside (DH will be delighted.........) It'll all be cooked and just need popping in the oven for a while when we get back. I've done portions of bolognese for BG as they have pasta and they aren't a fan of potatoes (don't no-body tell Pipster........
)
I only did enough lentils for the dish, but have plenty of the tomato/vegetable sauce left, so have portioned that up to freeze ready for future dishes.
I've just remembered that DH has to provide a sample today, and that he ate loads of beetroot yesterday.......... Um, better own up to that one, before they think he's got summat seriously wrong with him.........:rotfl:
BG has gone down for a snooze. They got a little bit crotchetty, and I thought I'd see if a nap would help - it appears to have worked.
Right, best get sorting lunch and then sorting ourselves out. It'll soon be time to go.

Sniggering at the beetroot tainted sample in a suitably mature fashion
We have a mid range rustling hobbes kettle and it is frankly dangerous and always has been as it shoots hot water over your hands and the worktop when you pour. Hate it but too mean to replace till it stops working. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

In defence of Rustling Hobbes, I have one of their kettles, sent free to review, a black plastic one, and it's fine.
The same model is available in white. Reviews vary, but mine's excellent.
Excerpt from my Amazon review:
The big plus point about the kettle for me is its no-splash spout. When cooking I often fill a kettle to its maximum fill level to quickly have boiling water for pasta, stock etc. Pouring a full kettle can be tricky as the water often splashes and dribbles, which can be dangerous. I poured out a full kettle twice in to the sink and there was no splashing.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0
