Am not sure where MWC 'lives' here in MSE land, but will join in on the challenge - I NEED a challenge!
 hello rtandon, I'm a Mortgage-Free Wannabe!
Nice to *meet you*
Only drinking 1 coffee/day is one of my personal challenges for November. I'd let myself go a bit over the last few monthsso the others include going to the gym, sticking to the diet, drinking 1.5 L water/day, early nights, getting to work on time, not watching rubbish TV when Mr MWC is away on business and I'm home alone, eating from the freezer/larder/garden and no unnecessary spending!
 Greying - hope you're having a lovely weekend
I can see from the RM unaddressed mail survey I'm doing that I should be receiving a leaflet from a cleaning company this week. I am so tempted but ultimately too tight to get a cleaner!
MWCxMortgage at highest (April 2008): ~£195,000
Mortgage-free: January 2021

Good Morning :hello:
mwc - rtandon hails from the same land as your relliesLand of the delish syrup tapped from trees
And is a lovely, kind, supportive visitor of this thread too
How lucky me?
rtandon - I'm either a vampire or bat(ty). Take yer pickI didn't wake early this morn
Which possibly had more to do with not going to bed until after 11pm  But as I was pootling along with a little craft project I'm absorbed in at the minute, I was possibly more relaxed than I have been of late, so.......
 to beanie - we're working on it
Tea last night was a curry plate. I was worried there wouldn't be enough, so got 2 half pots out of the freezer of l/o curry. I needn't have worried, there was plenty, which got me thinking about how our portion sizes have crept up again  Anyhoo, we had lentil dhal, rice, rajma masala, and a bit of chickpea masala and a bit of mixed veg rogan josh. Totally nom nom, and I did clear my plate, but whether I should have..........
Tea this evening is leaning towards sausages and buttery mash, with veg and onion gravy. Had we been going out as planned it would have been the ubiquitous cardboard box fish, oven chips and mushy peas. But I think i shall have time to cook from scratch.
We're off out for a pootle now. The weather is wavering between pants and autumn watery sunshine, but with threatening clouds always on the horizonDH has been looking after BG all morning thus far, although we all enjoyed toast just now
I've done a bit more crafting, and all is well in the world
I had a lovely supportive text off a new, but good, friend last night. I really am so blessed with my life and the (majority of) people in it.
I need to draw up a meal plan and BG could do with a bath. All go!
Ta for popping by, reading, making connections, cheering me on, and cheering each other on. Appreciated. Greatly

Have a happy Sunday. We've got sunshine, so I'm hoping to get out into the garden at some point - first I have to get the downstairs cleared up ready for the electrician tomorrow.
Hoping to make a beetroot curry tonight if I get everything done on time!0 -
Good Morning :hello:
We had a lovely 'lazy' day yesterday, thanks for thinking of us
We pootled out to deliver a birthday card. We drove out of rain and into blazing sunshine. It hit the leaves on the trees just making the autumnal colours *ping*Then returning, we were up on a high spot on the road, and we could see across a large swathe of Greying County, and could just see really dark clouds and 'curtain' rain showers in front of us. The contrast was remarkable, and the image, stunning.
Picked up a few bits in mrL. I forget our local store has stupid, huge 'baskets' - the 'new' store in the market town across the way has the original blue, easy to carry size. Why can't they have those at my local store? Eschewing the encumberance, meant I had to make 2 trips into the store, and came out to a heck of a shower after the second one!We then had a lazy afternoon of snoozing, bouncing up and down and crafting. You'll have to determine who was doing what
:rotfl:
Tea was veggie sausages, mashed tattie, carrots, and green beans with red onion gravy. Delish. Lunch was HM soup, featuring; carrots, parsnip, HG (not by me) swede and lentils with turmeric and seasonings. Just the weather for all that lot
I've not done my menu planning for this week, but I'll get round tuit! We will need milk today - I gave up trying to get it in mrL. Other than that, it should be a low-spend day I think.
I'm doing well with my 1 cup of coffee challenge. When I remember to do it, I very quickly revert to being 'content' with one cup. Silly I let it slip really. I also exercised restraint with my portion size at tea last night - and as I'm still not overly hungry, it just goes to show - bad habits!
Ta for popping in, reading and joining in. Appreciated. Always.

Not sure if you have a Mr T's near you but the one near my work has large pumpkins on sale for 10p (reduced to clear halloween stock).. I just bought 2 and they are HUGE. I'll be cooking mine up in to soup and freeze it for bases for pasta sauce, risotto and HM soup and bread meals... Will also roast the seeds with cinnamon and brown sugar for a work snack for my OH.... Might be worth a snoop if you have the chance (and freezer space!) xxxxThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Good Morning lovelies
sauceoclock - that is a brill idea. I've only seen discounted pumpkins in mrW, and they looked like someone had already had a footy match with them, so that would not have been 25p well spent. But I do still have my big BNS to use up, so I'm good for the orange stuff at the mo
Isn't it funny how connections happen? I was having a very funny conversation with someone t'other week that involved mention of and demonstration of 'the rowing dance' to the tune by the Gap Band, 'Oops upside ya head'. BG was with us. Roll forward to Saturday night when I was sitting listening to the radio, and said song came on to R2. I was smiling to myself, thinking of this person, and our conversation. Fast forward to this morning, and I was in the dining room, sitting across from DH & BG who were sat on/by the sofa. Purely by chance, some of BG's soft toys were sat on the sofa, in a line, which prompted me to say, 'oh they look like they are doing the 'rowing boat' dance'. 'Oh yes,' says DH - cueing me to burst into song.....BG who was in front of DH (who was sat on the sofa), immediately threw their hands up in the air and smiling said 'yeh'.......:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: All we needed was a glitter ball hanging from the ceiling and we'd have been right back in the 70's :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: How I wish my friend could have seen it, to see the influence they wrought...... :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Life is good
Right, don't faint, but your friend Greying has been making more preps for C'mas.......................
I've booked for us to do summat niceIt is free
But y'all have to book. So I did
We've also plumped to go to an event that is eschewing gifts and asking for donations to a FB instead. Now, this is where I could do with some help from beanie and/or the MSE collective. The FB isn't one that I've supported before, but no matter, it is a TT one. Donators have been asked to look at the 'most wanted' list. I'm tempted to go for 'tinned meat'. Now, this is where I need help. I never give things to a FB that I wouldn't eat myself in terms of quality. But I like to shop for best value for money, to get the most of a quality donation for the budget I have available. As a veggie, I've no recent experience of tinned meats. What do I go for? I'm minded to get some corned beef. It's not cheap, but it is versatile, and can be cooked or eaten cold in a sanger. But I also came across tinned meatballs - vile product or palatable? I'm thinking that when I was a kid, and we went camping with our school, we had tinned meatballs, and I thought them the bees knees, because we never had things like that at home. Would a family thank anyone for donating a tin of meatballs? I know I'm making the mistake of trying to (in effect) 'second guess' who is a FB client - which is not actually my intention. I just want our donation to be useful.
Can you help me with suggestions? Brands and types of meat products that are nice to eat and good quality would be welcomed. Cheers.
Soup for tea today. Featuring BNS if nothing else.
Few chores to complete, so we'll need to pootle up the high street, if the weather is with us.
Ta for popping in, reading and leaving good suggestions. Appreciated.
