Good Evening :hello:
Thanks for all the tips on gin pairingI shall be sure to bear them in mind
INOD - there will be custard, DH is just clearing the decks
beanie - is there no heating? Or no funds to switch it on?
I am a pillockWhen I talk about bobotie, I mean 'my' version of bobotie, which I pair down 99% of the time to be the lentil version of the 'meat' part of the dish. I rarely make (even a veggie) version of the dish with the topping, which doesn't seem dissimilar to moussaka..... Of course, this is a much more convoluted dish than my version, and I can see how you might not want to make it - veggie or meat. I make a spiced lentil and red kidney bean creation that is not dissimilar in appearance to chilli or savoury mince or cottage pie filling.
Anyhoo, tea was a baked tattie, bobotie and scrummy, buttery, HG (not by me) savoy cabbage. Nom, nomClean plates all round
The tatties were microwaved first and then put in the oven with the apple crumble (windfalls) and a fruit cake.
Today i am grateful for these 3 things;
HG produce, gifted
BG having fun and gaining confidence
for volunteers
Ta for popping in, reading and teaching me bad habits...... hic!Greatly appreciated by me, if not altogether appreciated by my husband.......... :rotfl:

Good Morning :hello:
beanie - always happy to take me cap off to volunteers :T I was pondering whether I encounter more activities that wouldn't happen without volunteers because of state withdrawal on so many fronts; or whether I've shifted so far away from consumerism, that my life is much more on a home-spun, make-your-own-fun, community-endeavour, plane, which relies heavily on volunteersDunno the answer, but I appreciate the work that volunteers - often unseen or unknown - do
Right, woke up at the rise of dawn, or perhaps it was earlierAnd so decided to utilise my time wisely and have had a stab at completing a task from me admin 'mountain'. Dunno if I am compos mentis at such an early hour, but I've made a start. It's always easier to edit 'something' that stare at a blank sheet of paper
I've no idea what the weather is doing outside, but as long as it is not raining, I plan a good, long, walk up to the retail park to gather a few bits.
We're back to a single cup of coffee today, and as I've drunk that already, I'm on water here on in. Wish me luck :rotfl:
Tea this evening will be a buddha bowl featuring egg as the 'main' - probably an omlette. Everything else will be from stores or the freezer.
Right, can't think of anything else :money: I'll have a list for my shopping, I'm not indulging in retail therapy(as if.....
) So best vamoose.
Ta for popping in and reading. Appreciated. Greatly

Good luck with your coffeeless day Greying! and enjoy your walk
Hooray indeed for volunteers :j I've usually done some kind of volunteering or other and I'm not at the minute and it feels odd. Gave up the last thing (treasurer for community allotment) to concentrate on moving house and now I have a little more time again I'm waiting til we move to see what's what. Mind you, I'm saddling myself with a long commute so time will be more limited. But I'll see what's what when I get there
Salivating reading about your foodFor various reasons I didn't really have any tea last night and am now right proper hungry. Should probably get out of bed and do something about it rather than lying in bed telling everyone :rotfl:
Also most impressed with you tackling admin so early in the morning! :T
Have a good rest of your day0 -

I think there's a strong possibility I would have been using the anglo-saxon vernacular dictionary if I'd been on the gin..... All that was written was done so stone cold sober, I'm pleased to report
