Did malwarebytes find anything ?
Next thing i would try is re-seating the memory if you are comfortable doing so, and then doing a disk check .
run cmd as administrator, and type chkdsk /r
and press enter
once this has completed, it's probly worth scanning the file system also, so type
sfc /scannow

Ok I have fallen over the problem..... Not enough RAM. Got rid of a Java programme Rebooted and that was it. Not sure if I'm still on the verge of not having enough but I have done all the above including changing from AVG to Bitfinder. My memory usage is showing 4.5 GB, I have 8GB. I really do appreciate you pointing the way for meIf youcan lie down at night knowing in your heart that you just made someone’s day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day!!0

Do you have any other Java apps? If not, it'd be worth uninstalling Java as it's a bit of a security vulnerability. Sometimes new Java versions don't remove the old version when they're installed, so make sure you've removed them all.My memory usage is showing 4.5 GB, I have 8GB.
Did you have a lot of apps open at the time? 4.5GB is a fair bit of memory to be using if you aren't doing much.0 -
That memory usage seems very high.
You may have a program running that is leaking memory.
Open task manager, go to the processes tab and click the heading titled "memory" so the computer will order them in size order ..
