Yes, they said they needed to and I had to agree that was OK, only took a few seconds to go through0

Have two current and two savings account with tesco but received the clubcard email offering 2500 points for a current account transfer, presumably I'd have to close one current account first before switching.0

I also received this offer. A switch to a Tesco account you already hold qualifies, so simply arrange a switch if you have a spare account.0 -
Those that have had switching offers, have you used the accounts as your main accounts or just using for savings?
I've had two accounts 1saving 1 everyday spending, sacrificed 1 to get the M&S gift card, but have opened one again to fill once lloyds rate drops.
Never had an offer to switch from them, is it because I've used one of the accounts day to day?
E.g. Used the card and made them a bit of money so no switch offers?0 -

I've had the switching offer, only ever used as a savings account. Perhaps it's a nudge to get me to use it as my main account.
I've got (well, just opened) an RBS account which I'm going to switch to HSBC if they'll open me an account so as to get their switching bonus. If that fails I shall switch it to Tesco for the points.0 -
I consider one of my accounts as a spending account and one as a savings account, but I'm probably not meeting their definition of a main account. I have a Halifax Reward that I use for DD purposes, and use my credit card for most spending. Only if I need cash or am spending somewhere that would not accept credit cards/would charge to do so do I use the Tesco account.0

Same thing happened to me. Hope it goes through fine without needing any further checks.

I applied for a 2nd current account on 10th Dec '16. The application pack did arrive promptly and I returned the application form on the date I received it (approx 13th Dec).
I realised that the application could be slightly delayed due to Christmas & New Year holidays, but when I had heard nothing by 10th Jan '17 I rang Customer Services. After a few minutes checking I was told that the application had been approved & I would receive PIN details etc within a couple of days.
It is now 18th Jan & still nothing - so I rang Customer Services again and they initially tried to tell me that I had not returned the original application form, then admitted that the form had been "mis-filed". More than 5 weeks and no further - I told them to forget it & I will open an account with a bank I can trust.
I have also written a letter to their Complaints Dept threatening to close my existing current account & await their reply.0 -

That's over-reacting a little, surely? Opening bank accounts with any bank can take a while, all banks make errors now and then and Tesco aren't the fastest operator for new accounts.
My other half opened a second account with them a few weeks ago - and the debit card only arrived yesterday. But we knew it would come along eventually.
Tesco's current account earns 3% on £3k with no conditions attached at all. And you can have 2 per person. No other bank offers that kind of easy interest-earning deal at the moment, so it is worth having some patience!0 -
I found opening a second account with them was far harder than the first - it took a month!0
