In Luton airport, if I remember right, those flimsy bags cost 2 for a pound. They can bought from those machines right next to the security check area. How conveniently placed.

They should have provided it for free.
20No of this plastic bag will only cost £2.95 including delivery p&p cost.

If the airport authority buys them in large quantities the cost will be significantly reduced.

    .
There is nothing to say that airports should provide the bags for free.

The amount of make-up .... some people try to sneak through is unbelievable! I only take a 10ml lip gloss & small tube of moisturiser.

It's not sneaking it through if it's in a liquids bags. I take mascara, lip balm, a couple of chubby sticks, lip liner, wax brow pencil, moisturiser and some tinted moisturiser. Apart from I've never seen some of the brands I use in the destination I go to, I really don't want to waste time shopping for cosmetics on holiday if my bag goes awol.

Manchester used to charge for bags. I've no idea whether they still do because I take my liquids already in a bag. There's nothing that says an airport has to give you something free that you should be providing yourself.

You can buy 25 bags in Tesco cheaper than those linked on Ebay, so no excuse for people expecting the airport to provide them gratis.

If everyone brings their own resealable bag, What about security staff time wasting to check whether the bag comply with the max size or involved in unnecessary argument with passengers ??

It is more costly and will result the queuing time longer ...

I've always taken my own bags, 1.2l Ikea resealable bags, 20cm x 21.5 cm, never, not once, anywhere in the world that I have been to, have security staff argued about the size. Nor have I ever seen them argue with anyone else.

They're always too busy dealing with the numpties who managed to walk past all the signs telling them they need to put liquids in bags, or those who think they're special and the drinks they have in their scanned bags are somehow exempt. That's what causes longer queues, no people using their own bags.

No it won't. If you use a bag of the correct size it isn't an issue. I've never had a liquids bag challenged yet, purely because they're the correct size. If you want to take liquids you put them in a bag you provide. Hold ups are caused by people who don't take things out of the hand luggage to be screened separately when they should. People that leave drinks and liquids in their hand luggage because they think the rules don't apply to them, and people that rock up to the airport and wait for a security officer to hand them a bag and then proceed to scour their bag for all their liquids.

Take a right sized bag with everything already in it - no hold ups.
