Compensation for post traumatic strwss

  • Half term this week. I guess that the OP now has some homework to take care of.
  • We have both been signed off sick for a minimum of 4 weeks with post traumatic stress due to the lack of customer care ( none of it ) from both the travel company and the hotel.

I don't know what either the travel company or the hotel could have done that would have made it less traumatic. I dare say now the travel company has been name in the gutter press that they're hoping they can blame this on both them and the hotel, and make just a teeny weeny bit more money:eek: I really don't know how some people sleep at night - with or without "PTS".
  • When I was younger I didn't believe in PTSD. Must be made up.

Then somebody pointed a gun at me and demanded cash.

I only had a few days off work, but the anguish continued for months and returns annually around the anniversary date of the event. Even though I've long since stopped consciously thinking about it.

I don't think it's fair to say what an individual should feel in the aftermath of shocking events. We are all different.
  • Apply for housing benifit stating your income in a letter and sign it.They may ask for bank statements

and more infomation.Ask about council tax help?

Ask for a referal to a local food bank from your GP or community heath profesinal,

You are wittnesses to what happened ,you have choices.

Many years ago, one of my colleagues was driving his truck when a car coming in the opposite direction skidded on ice, lost control and slammed head on into him.

The driver of the car was killed instantly due to his horrific injuries.

My colleague could not drive his truck immediately and for months after the incident and despite the accident report confirmed he was no way at fault, he felt he could not drive again. Our employer kept harassing him to return to work - and even suggested to his union rep that he was 'milking the situation'.

A family man who adored his wife and kids who loved life and who never lost any work due to ill health, committed suicide some months after the accident.

I won't make any comment on the OP's situation - we are all different and for those who have never experienced such situations, you just never know how you will react after witnessing such an event.

There seems to be too many self proclaimed psychotherapists on here - the ridiculous and totally inappropriate post below compounds my view. I suspect making such a comment to the many servicemen who are struggling to come to terms after serving their country in battle after witnessing 'horrific things' would be unwise.
Lot's of people see horrific things, traumatic things during their lives. They don't all go staying off work for a prolonged period of time, or seeking compensation. Sometimes things happen and you've just got to carry on.

    Ridiculous - just ridiculous.

You can't know who is going to get PTSD. Two people can be in the same incident and only one of the will develop it. I'm not getting Ito the whole compensation thing but telling someone to get over it and that others see similar or worse is misunderstanding thiscondition.
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!

I was on holiday 4 weeks ago and myself and my partner hired out a boat from the resort water sports team ( a captain ) was driving. Coming back into the resort the boat hit someone in the water and killed them. We have lost 4 weeks of income and unable to pay rent. What can we do?

OP started this thread yesterday evening. Stated she's not going to go to the press , but the story was in yesterday's Mirror, published the the early hours, of course.
