Whilst I'm sure it was a dread thing to witness, I'm at a loss to understand how you have now got post traumatic stress

Boxing Day last year, me and DH were the first car to arrive upon a really serious car crash

I'm talking horrendous , the driver having gone through the window screen and head first into a tree

I didn't know a body could crumple as that one had :(

So yes as soon as the adrenaline wore off I was as sick as a dog, couldn't stop shaking and crying. Writing this now I have tears running down my face

So I took it easy for a few day. Was kind to myself, and DH. We talked a lot about what we had witnessed, we cried and raged about the tragic loss of a young life.

But we carried on. Bills needing paying, work had to be done, family still needed us

I still grab the steering wheel tightly when I come across that bend, the evidence of the crash is still there and I do sometimes get flash backs

Yet I'm perfectly fit to function and I certainly didn't go running to my doctors for a diagnoses in order to claim compo

Dreadful things happen. We witness the most terrible carnage at times.Doctors, nurses, ambulance drivers, fire services, see it daily. They know that to get by it, they talk, they cry, they laugh. They know no amount of compensation will make the images they see go away. They put them away in a safe place to be dealt with as and when and get on and do their work and their living

Perhaps you need to think on about how compensation is really going to help you
  • Lot's of people see horrific things, traumatic things during their lives. They don't all go staying off work for a prolonged period of time, or seeking compensation. Sometimes things happen and you've just got to carry on. Feeling sorry for yourself and trying to get money from someone else really isn't the answer. If you really have got PTS or PTSD all the money in the world won't help you get over it. On the other hand, if you've decided to take advantage of a horrible situation....................
  • Bet the OP doesn't come back on here!

Having sold the story to the mirror, OP now has plenty of dosh to employ an expensive lawyer to tell her to get on with life

Your story is rather elaborate. Scuba diving body picker uppers, Syrian refugees, a hotel that wants to hush everything up yet are not concerned about what you claim to know. And a body seemingly disposed of ... well, who knows how!

It's Turkey, I'm sure they do 'things' differently there !
  • Out of interest, how much money do you get for selling a story to the tabloids? anyone know?

If the story supports the 'it'll be better under Brexit' mantra, a bit extra.
Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.
  • See these ladies sold out to The Mirror and have made The Daily Mail today..... didn't take long did it. Not sure we'll hear back from them here. I too once came across a road accident which resulted in a fatality. I knew immediately that there was nothing I could do to help the victim, who'd been hit by a van whilst crossing an unlit road in dark clothing. It was pretty horrific, but I covered him with a blanket and tried to keep people stopping their cars away until the emergency services arrived. The van driver was in complete shock and I really felt for him. It was just awful, and I still see the man when I drive past this spot everyday. I gave a statement and moved on. Would compensation for what I experienced have changed anything - not at all. In fact I'd have felt dreadful profiting from such a sad and horrific experience for the driver, who the police said could have done nothing more than he did, and the family of the deceased.

I really do think 4 weeks off work and PTS is just the start of the claims from the OP here.

I really hope selling their story to the Mirror & Mail is the end of it.

I would too, but I doubt it.
