Is this is from a BT employee ?, If it is I think they are wrong,
I assume that they were a BT employee as it was on live chat on the BT site
You may be able to get similar products but will it be with the same perks, discounts, gotchas as they are currently advertising for their Infinity products over FTTC
Have you tried https://www.samknows.com to see who has what in your local exchange? I doubt it will make any difference but takes only two minutes to check.
If you are right next to the exchange, the DSL may not be that slow but it will not compare to fibre speeds.
unforseen has mentioned in post#2 alternative FTTP ISP's two others I know of are idnet and icuk.net,All of these are more expensive than BT.
Plusnet will supply FTTP BUT you have to order via telesales not online and have to take a standard adsl product first and then they will upgrade to FTTP,this means you miss out on any cashback and deals advertised on site and it's an 18 month contract.
