I'm just curious, they have two cards, the normal one and the gold one without much of a difference in what they offer..
Or is there?
Or is there?

They only have 2 credit cards, one is the balance transfer card, the other is a purchases card. It's not that hard to figure out which one is which:

I never even realised that until now.. :rotfl:0 -
Promoting one card for balance transfers and the gold card for purchases seems to be a recent thing. For a long time the only difference in the two cards was the interest rate, -presumably the gold card was harder to get.
I have a gold card and I sometimes get balance transfer offers from them, so they certainly don't limit balance transfers to the ordinary card.0 -
Gold card for purchases that comes with no cashback or perks at all...0

Yeah, the no perks thing does let it down slightly. But I've only just signed up for it to get the £25 incentive that they're offering for using Apple and/or Android Pay, otherwise it's probably just going to sit in my wallet and not really do much after that0 -
The parent HSBC also has a £30 incentive via MS link for a balance transfer. HSBC tend to do these incentives (including FD) from time to time but their interest periods and fees are not market leading.0
