terrible video but nothing else is working with you0 -
ahahahahahahahahahaha0 -
The spider in the mean song was quite catchy actually.
Now, Mr Median toad has got the following:
A 1 bed property
A 2 bed property
A 3 bed property
A 4 bed property
A 5 bed property
A 6 bed property.
Mr Median toad says that you should take the number in the middle. But oh no. There are six numbers. What should I do mr median toad!?
Well, fear not, take the two numbers in the middle and divide them.
Oh, ok Mr Median Toad.
That looks like a 3 bed and erm, well, let me see, a 4 bed property. Is that right? Why yes, it sure is.
Ok, so let's add 3 and 4 together children. That gives 7!!!
Oh ok, let's then divide this by 2 to get the median.
Oh ok, that is 3.5.
Oh, Yay, I just worked out the median.
Time for another Guiness.0 -

Interesting point, however having just checked rightmove for leeds + 40 miles for terraces listed in the last two weeks as a guide to the north it shows
48 x 1-bed terraces for sale
1,589 x 2-bed terraces
1,443 x 3-bed terraces
361 x 4-bed terraces
56 x 5 bed terraces
15 x >6 bed
The median terrace is thus a 3 bedroom terrace so your idea while it was interesting has proved to be wrong. The average price is for a 3 bed terrace not a 2
Edit to add. The data shows the north as not just affordable but cheap so the median full time working couple do not need to buy the average terrace they actually have the income to buy the better than average terrace
in which region do you think the banks would say no to the mortgage, hint its only likely in the more expensive half of the London boroughs.
Either way the problem is then not affordability but mortgage regulations
actually the medium terrace is a 2 bed.0 -

Seems even dear frog couldn't get through to you.
Go back and look at the Leeds data line them all up and find the number in the middle its not 3.5 it is 30 -

Basic math lesson for Mr Wind.
Mode = most common so from the above that is the 2 bedroom properties.
Median = line them up from lowest to highest and find the one on the middle. 3,512 properties so find the 1756th property which is a 3 bedder
Mean = multiply and divide. I can't hold that many numbers in my head and can't be bothered to get the calculator out. Rounding and mental math looks to be around 2.70 -
Either way I think we all agree that there is no housing crisis in Scotland Wales Northern Ireland North-East North-West Yorkshire&Number W-Midlands E-Midlands. Prices there are not inky affordable but cheap
The south West, East-England and the south East are affordable.
London is definitely more expensive but even London is affordable for a couple on the medium full time wage excluding kids and the retired.0 -
Yup. Just making a point re: stats can show what you want them to show.
Now, let's take out all the pensioners, people with children, single people, people called Dave and those who own whippets and only count those who are a couple aged 18 - 65.
