Moneybox on Radio 4 today asked that question and a NR spokesman said that it was running properly but due to the volume of hits the site was working slowly.0

Deserve what? trying to stop you lemmings jumping off a cliff after a fresh game of russian roulette.
By all means gamble away, if you make £50 profit good on you if you lose £900 more fool you.
Ive yet to meet a day trader or speculator that hasnt lost money in the long run.0 -

For the last time these are the f**kin short buy back you dumb a*s
Have you sold this stock short or bet on a drop yourself?
Yes, it could be people buying to cover short sales. Could also be people buying on anticipation of takeover or just thinking that it's a good long term opportunity.
I'm not going to be buying NR shares. I expect a pretty dismal profit forecast from them.0 -

Nope my stock portfolio is as follows -
888 holdings - 8888 shares at £1.09p
Rank PLC - 4000 shares at £1.55p
China Goldmines PLC 2000 shares at £1.15p
Commodities-
Gold holding - 8 oz at $657
I dont spreadbet or daytrade. Id leave NR to the professionals, there is no telling how much playing about they are going to do with it over the next few weeks, small guys will get d***ed on
I had shares in HBOS but sold at them a while back. All signs are we are heading for the usual financial meltdown at the end of a boom so my advice is to not touch banks, property or anything very highly geared ie loans they are struggling with. Defensive investing is the way to go IMO0 -
After all the TV pictures of queues trying to get their money out,how do you think the city will react tomorrow?
Will their shares collapse?
MOP is they`ll go down to about 300p from their current 438p about another 30%.0 -
I think the shares will settle at 350p-375p. As the week progresses attention with turn from people queuing outside NR branches to who will take NRK over.
I don't think any of the other banks will be rushing to take NRK over this week but bidders will appear over the next few weeks/couple of months.0 -
What scares me is the amount of people putting their life savings into NR shares with the thinking lines of "its gone down lots so it can only go up".
The people on the investment forums who have a whole lot of experience have advised against this. Those that have already clicked deal with their life savings at 5.50, 5.00 and 4.50... I hope to god your right and dont lose all your money! because from my experience, never touch something in free fall.
Trading suspended soon perhaps?0 -

Yes I don't entirely get it either since to me "it can keep going down" - quite a lot more too surely?
Granted, if it's an amount you can stand to lose then fair enough, I'm no expert and could be proved wrong, but I've read a few threads on a number of forums where whilst they haven't explicitly said as much, I get the impression that as a proportion of someone's available/disposable income we're talking a pretty large chunk to be punting on one company.0 -
I am going to buy the shares at 13p per share!:j0
