I understand all you HPC guys (and do correct me if I'm wrong) have 6 figures stashed away because you pay about £9 rent a year. So surely you wouldn't need the crash to be that hard? Or would you refuse totally to finance it through debt? I'm not trying to flame you, genuinely trying to see your viewpoint.
Well to breakeven he would need a crash of way over 100%. Someone completed the calculations on his behalf.
So, when properties are finally given away with an additional £50k free gift..... Crashy may have just broken even.0 -
Been looking for around 5 years or so in Leigh-on-Sea. For the first time, I've noticed a quieter market. Two of the four houses I like have had their prices dropped this week - usually they're snapped up within a week or two.
Hoping it stays like that so I can get a better deal - so long as it doesn't affect my sale too much!

In my commuter belt village in surrey its business as usual.
Why? well because they aren't building any more houses. Green belt surrounds us, and there is a vocal NIMBY contingent (and they vote and aren't afraid to let the local MP know about it).

Would have thought now was probably the worst of all times to try putting rents up? Are your employers going to try and push rent increases?0 -
Increased costs to landlords will obviously result in increased rent.0
