Tesco Current Account Switching Incentive

Interestingly I have gone for this switch but the email or link or info on the email give no indication which (of the two full) Tesco C/A you need to kick off the switch from.
Fingers crossed it doesn't matter or if it does that I've chosen the correct one.
PS was anyone else surprised that only circa 700 switched to Tescos compared to circa 70k switching to Nationwide via CASS? i.e. 1% in terms of pure numbers.
Maybe this thread might take that to 2%!

I also have received the offer via email and I just phoned Customer Services to clarify whether it applies to both accounts, i.e. if I switch an external account to each Tesco account will I receive 2 x 2500 points. The agent checked with her manager and came back with 'It's one per customer.' I then pointed out that the T's and C's state one offer per account and she said 'We were told one offer per customer, but if the the T's and C's state one offer per account then go with that.'
Just wondered if others agree with my understanding and that by switching an external account to each of my Tesco accounts will give me 2 x 2500 points? I'm considering opening a basic account elsewhere to switch over next month in order to benefit; nothing to lose really! :cheesy:0 -
Well I've taken advantage. I had a spare current account and I can't see there being many more good switching incentives becoming available over the next few months.
2,500 points are worth £25 if spent in Tesco but if you use them for deals they can be worth more. I normally use mine for Red Spotted Hanky to buy train tickets where they are worth slightly less than double the value*. So an easy £49.00 from this switch for me. Could be worth more or less depending on how you redeem the Tesco points.
*For the pedants, I say "slightly less" as RSH charge a £1 booking fee per transaction, unlike other train ticket booking sites. So my £25 will convert to £50 of RSH vouchers which, if used in one transaction will buy me £49 worth of train tickets. I wouldn't use RSH if paying cash due to this fee, but if paying with Tesco vouchers it still works out cheaper than booking the tickets through other sites.0 -

"If you have already received an offer for requesting a switch in 2016, you will not be eligible for this further offer."0 -
Ah good thinking!!!
I'm still going to try though :rotfl:0 -

The T&Cs (which have been quoted twice on this thread) state:
If you have already received an offer for requesting a switch in 2016, you will not be eligible for this further offer.
Looks pretty clear to me its only one per customer this year...
Edit - Ashen has already beaten me to it!0 -
The dilemma I`ve got is I get £5 from the Halifax each month, which is going down to £3 in Feb 17.
There`s only about £20 in the account as the monthly £750 goes in and about 10 seconds later comes out again.
It`s £5/3 for nothing really so I don`t think 2,500 Tesco points are going to persuade me this time.0 -
Anyone completed their switch and received their points yet? I've just requested my switch.0

I'm feeling a bit neglected:o
To those of you who have received the switching offer:
do you have 1 or 2 sole accounts?
approx how long have you had them?
do you use them (apart from as a savings account;))?
are you registered for marketing?
Just trying to work out what I can do which might prompt the invitation.Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.0
