  • Morning PF :) sometimes at our chinese sm I get 2 frozen roasted duck breasts (1 pack), some pancakes and plum sauce (also pick up some spring onions & a cucumber) and we have duck pancakes totally super impact and low effort and the sauce and pancakes last for many reruns :D

Working today but have training in my home town so getting a late start :j

    Have already:

    * unblocked bathroom plug  but now it is draining freely - no need for any chemicals ;)
    * made lunches for dgd & me
    * put some chickpeas into soak to make some hummus tonight :)

    Still to do:
    * update spending diary
    * [STRIKE]all meals from stores[/STRIKE] got some grapes and mini millionaire shortbreads at training :D
    * [STRIKE]hang out washing any minute before leaving[/STRIKE]
*[STRIKE] make sure all chargers are unplugged...[/STRIKE]
    * list some things on fleabay! Must do this....
    * [STRIKE]update expenses for Monday's mileage - think I'll recoup about £15 :)[/STRIKE]

That's all! Better get my skates on!

gosh it's quiet round here today! Not going to do fleabay - why can't I do it??? Just cba!

managed to pick up a button in a cs to repair my mac. 20p and the quest to not buy anything new continues :p

Hope you all had a good day x

intending on having a NSD today. Will leave my purse at home... Oh darn just realised I saw a rucksack in a charity shop yestrday that I wanted to get as a gift to oh...

Need to make packed lunches and hang up clothes

quick tidy round before leaving for work

    Morning Friday Frugalistas,
Feeling up & at it this morning so kicking in an early list:
*Clean whole house using minimal products & washable cloths. MUST include front window which will then be polished up with balls of scrunched up newspaper.......the ultimate MSE option!
*Do next week's meal plans - already swapped 1 idea for something we already have in the freezer.
    *Write shopping list.
    *Update budget.
*Update ebay - did get re-listings done yesterday.
*De-clutter more items into charity bag as want to drop it off tomorrow.
*Fill in acceptance form for full & final PPI settlement. (Raised a miss-selling complaint in 2012 & they paid up, so I was very surprised to receive a letter yesterday informing me that they had re-examined my complaint & that I'm owed an additional £1110).
*Investigate tax rebate on the above. Instructions included in letter so will follow those & also include photocopy of bank letter.
*Label the grape jelly I made yesterday & pack away into pantry.
*Knit more of the 2 Christmas gifts I'm currently working on. Should finish sock today & I knitted all of the lace on the other gift last night & did the shaping, so I can crack on with the easy bit now.
*Change household linens & load into washer for a cheap overnight wash at some point when there's no rain forecast.
Ok...that will do. Better put some make-up on so I don't frighten the cat.
    Cheers all,
    F xx

Hi guys a late check in from me and not a very MSE day! :( Had not felt the baby moving much last night or this morning so I had an appointment at the maternity hospital at lunch time today to check all was OK, luckily everything was fine and baby starting wriggling around as soon as I was hooked up to the monitor but it did mean that I spent £4 on a lunch time meal deal from the local garage and then about another £2 on some chocolates this morning as I felt down! But back on it tomorrow! I've not really achieved much today at all!

    - Checked bank account
    - Made a lunch box for tomorrow

I literally think that's all I have done today that was worth it!

I hope everyone else had a better day! :) x

Phew! So happy to know everything is okay with your baby. Yours and your baby's health is priority, don't worry about the spends! We all have bad days. x

I've not been on her all week because I have been sooo busy at work. Good news for Money saving though because I've had 4 NSD's.

    - Packed lunch on Monday, travelled 1st class on the train on Tuesday and took everything on offer! Did an MR for lunch on Wednesday and then had a business lunch on Thursday.
    - Came home with a can of coke and crisps from the train journey and treats from the MR.
    - Got 2 MR's tomorrow
    - Sold an eBay item, parcelled and ready to go today.
    - postcode lottery and ipoll every day
    - facebook sales - 3 have completely fell through, so I relisted last night and have 3 new buyers, fingers crossed they all collect!
    - Bought a Nintendo wii and games for £20, put that away for Christmas for my DD.
    - Being given the run around by the doctors trying to sort out a form which they want me to pay for.
    - Put a claim in for two prescriptions from healthcare fund
    - I'm trying to get a refund from tastecard. Stupidly I signed up for a trial and they have charged me £40. But I don't even have a card anymore. So I've contacted them and paypal to get a refund.
    - Buying a cheap DVD to watch with my DD as I haven't seen her much this week with being busy at work. Will make homemade popcorn.
    - writing shopping list for the week.

    Think that's it for me.

Tenth Anniversary Combo Breaker Car Insurance Carver! Debt-free and Proud!
    Hi All

    Happy friday afternoon.

My desk is clear, but as I type I am waiting for 2 clients who are both late. Bet they turn up late together!!!

Weekend activities are still undecided. Should I go to the sheep sale? Finish some quilts? Make more chutney? Raspberry jam? Do the ironing? Declutter? I just can not commit to a plan. At least I am well and able to do stuff. I must count my blessings.

There is nothing I want and it is lovely.

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi All

Small things I can remember this week

    1. Buying the cheapest greetings card. The sentiment is the same if it costs 49p as £4.99
    2. Not sure at the mortality of this one but when I paid for a birthday toy for DD I noticed it came up as £2.10 instead of £7 as advertised. It was in a large chain store...glitch?
    3. I've been using up things from the fridge like a boss. My family never seem to think about the fact that 2 slices of bread and butter saved in a Tupperware can be used! I have plans involving meringue and frozen raspberries to use up some of the double cream that the supper club gifted me last weekend.
    4. Paid in a refund from a solicitor cheque and a birthday cheque for DD.
    5. Found 20p
    6. Walked a lot
    7. No heating on yet. It's still so mild. Hoping to make it to November or even beyond.
    8. £20 on eBay sales this week
    9. Cancelled an app that would have cost me £4.89 as I no longer have a decent enough phone to run the app.
    10. Keep on track of our banking/ the business banking.

A quick note of some useful savings I found this morning - Aldi -v- Mr T.
    Leeks - 500g. 45p -v- 95p
    Onions 1kg. 45p -v- 75p
    Swede - 45p -v- 70p *
    Parsnips - 45p -v- 54p
    Bread flour - 75p -v- 95p
    20 Bin sacks - 1.49 -v- 2.49

Also noted - frozen veg at a very favourable price comparably.

As I'm sure you can see a lot of these are super 6 offers - however they may help someone. At first use, the bin sacks are a better quality than the last lot I bought from T's, which were quite honestly awful.

    * T';s price was 70p for a teeny, tiny one, Aldi price was 45p for a frankly enormous beast!

    Evening all :)
    Late check in today :)
Today's accomplishments, such as they are:
Posted 2 ebay parcels, and 1 additional item sold after that :)
Went to Mr S, mainly to buy new printer cartridges (for my printer, they are as cheap there as anywhere -so why not have the nectar points?) and a couple of boring grocery items along the lines of porridge oats and butter. Sadly also succumbed to buying 2 tops :o Got them home, tried them on, and they are definitely going back tomorrow!
Helped myself to some wine boxes from the front of the supermarket while I was there, for ebay posting - they are put out under a sign inviting customers to help themselves :)
    Paid in a cheque
Made 2 apple and raspberry pies and a goats cheese, ham and chives quiche :D
HM meals, used some items from the freezer for dinner :)
Trimmed back 2 lavender plants, kept the dead flower heads and put them in a vase - they still smell nice :)
Load of washing almost-dried on the line
Wood burner alight to a) keep me warm, as it is chilly here in the evenings now, b) will air off the washing overnight, even though it is not made up to keep in, and c) 'free' tea and coffee courtesy of the kettle steaming away on top of it :)

Need to get that washing onto the airer, and then bath and bed for me!
