What small DFW things will you do this week? wk comm 3rd October

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

Morning Campers,
I'm determined to make every single day of this week count. Haven't decided on my complete list yet for today, but it will include:
*Line drying cheap overnight laundry & setting timer for another load.
*2 baths from 1 lot of hot water.
*Picking courgettes.
*Finishing money-related project I was recruited for via Ugov. Quite a lot of stats to collate.
*Move some funds around....just simple things like paying Saturday's grocery bill off CC (which we only use to maximise points for vouchers).
*Declutter some more items into charity bag.
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*More Christmas present knitting.
*Finish potting up geraniums from summer containers to bring under cover before the frosts.
*Investigate whether I have all the ingredients in to make apple & ginger chutney without needing to buy anything.
*Contact Body Shop to ask why I have not received confirmation of the order I placed last week. V unusual for them.
Right.....caffiene imbibed, time to make a start.
Have a good week all (especially people who are trying to soldier on while battling horrible lergies).
PurpleFairy - We may have been at the same place yesterday.....esp if you were somewhere with a play cafe, an orangery, a fountain, a boat house & a herd of deer and is in a county beginning with 'L', lol.

Gooooooood morning one and all,
Happy Monday and the start of another glorious week.
Yesterday morning I woke at 7am and went a run in the crisp morning fog. Absolutely loved it. Probably my favourite conditions to be out in. This morning seemed much the same, my room was filled with a pink/red glow from the skies. I do enjoy Autumn.
Anyway, we're in new month and I'm deteremined to rack plenty of NSD's and a big shop yesterday should cover me for this week. My list for today;
- Check banks and YNAB
- Bring lunch and snacks to work
- Exercise
- Drink plenty water
- Clear up papers in the house
- Read more of my book
Have a nice day all.0 -
Well, I'm on holiday from work, so I'm saving on fuel for the car.0

Hi everyone
I got up too late to reconcile YNAB after all my monthly bills came out. Shock horror  :rotfl: Oh well, I will have an unsettled feeling all day until I can get back home to reconcile in peace. :rotfl:
Here’s me:
Porridge in work – free milk
Packed lunch – vegan sarnie – chickpea and onion salad – can of chickpeas whizzed up in food processor – made enough for 2 days :A
Sarnie in reusable tub rather than foil; washed in work ready for the next day so no excuses when I get home
Groceries shopping tonight – spurred on by last month’s epic grocery (lack of) spends :T
Yoga at lunchtime – pal’s class so I get a discount and stay away from the shops :A
Just listening to the kids behind me in work talk about how they furnished their house with a 0% purchases card and how they spend around £100 a week on food (just him and girlfriend). Let’s hope they never fall on hard times, alas they won’t find a card to transfer the balance to and won’t be spending that on food!0 -
Hi everyone! A late check in for me as no time in the mornings before work! Into my last fortnight at work now before starting maternity leave, it can't come quick enough, I feel so tired! Anyway for today:
- Get £20 that OH owes me
- Check banking
- All meals from home - A colleague at work bought me some cheesey puffs, my craving! Lovely!
- Do more surveys/swagbucks
- Post a few Ebay items - Done
- Aim for a NSD - Aside from the ebay parcels which are accounted for!
I think that's all I needed to do/have done for today! I hope everyone's had a good day in the new week! xDebt free once - Back again | Current debt: £2479.50 - January 2025 | Make £2025 in 2025 #11 - £41/£20250 -

:eek: Don't you just wish you could say NOOOOO! and they would listenHopefully they will be ok and we won't be seeing a tale of woe on these boards anytime soon!
Today I have:
Worked this morning as usual for Mondays, tidied and restocked my shop space in town. It was payday too, and sales are definitely on the up from last month
Packed and posted 3 ebay sales
Listed more things
RM surveys tasks
Load of washing dried on line outside, as it turned out to be a nice sunny day
Repotted a couple of plants for front garden
Picked 2 more courgettes
Jacket spuds and leftovers from yesterday for dinner
Bits from fridge for lunch
Dog walks for free exercise
Made appointment for free flu injection (at last, kept forgetting this!)
Bit of paperwork for business
No spends, apart from a bit of business stuff
Still to do:
Check banks, need to move some money due to OH's scary golf club fees having gone out :eek:
Load of washing to hopefully dry outside tomorrow
Prepare rest of RM surveys stuff for this week
Look at ebay totals for August, for my accounts (might not actually get to this till tomorrow as it means printing, which will make the dog bark)
It is getting decidedly chilly, so may need to light the wood stove later - had it alight last night as well
Hope everyone has a good night, and thanks for the start DNMS0 -
PF You've got a lot to answer for!! Since you led me last week to the bbc food pages, my healthy eating has gone out of the window!! :rotfl: In the oven at the minute are peanut butter cookies - oh the smell of them cooking is amazing. The ds's will be very happy when they walk through the door tonight (so long as I haven't eaten them in the meanwhile! )
Ha ha :rotfl: I love it :T now it's not just me, it's addictive isn't it. Try also searching by highest rated recipes, found some lovely ones there too. I do have a sweet tooth though and always get pulled back to cakes. DH has requested muffins in the morning0
