determined_new_ms wrote: »Mooooooooooorning! Foxgloves you're posting early this morning! I've been awake since 6.30 - usual time for us!
Just finishing off my coffee before springing into action. It's oh's dd's birthday tomorrow and in our usual style we have left it last minuteand it's his 70th so can't be something lame! Thinking about getting him a voucher for 2 x sports massage - he's big into fitness and has a shoulder injury. We've found a groupon voucher for £20 instead of £50. I'm going to make him a red velvet cake. And I've contacted his sister to see if she has a photo of their family when he was young. Hard to get special gifts when you're on a budget!
Things for today:
*[STRIKE] write list of bits needed and stick to list when at the SM
thinking as I'm going to the sm I might go shopping for the next 2 weeks... Take bags with me[/STRIKE] just under £70
£10 in kitty for anything we run out of over next 2 weeks - probably 2 x 6pts of milk & 2 x loaves of bread and a pack of bananas next week
got in a joint of pork and a whole chicken & an extra bottle of wine (:o) as well so they will do for the next fortnight. Loving fortnightly shopping
my total for the month (runs from 20th to 20th) is £150 so far...
* [STRIKE]checked banking, did a couple of transfers & updated spending diary - since I've been sticking to this I agree La E I feel a little out of sorts until I get a chance to put in spends in & reconcile accounts![/STRIKE]
* [STRIKE]looks like its going to be a grey and drizzly day so thinking we'll have a day at homeor might go to a play group this afternoon...[/STRIKE]
* check tyre pressure
* [STRIKE]nip to the allotment and pick runner beans and courgettes[/STRIKE]
* clean house - efficiently (aka quickly!), with minimal products and washable cloths :money: cba!
*[STRIKE] 2 muffins out of the freezer for afternoon snacks[/STRIKE]
That's all I can think of right now! Have a great day x
spent no personal cash
Used up 1/3 jar of pesto I'd frozen & some home grown mangetout & courgettes for dinner
picked a load of runner beans, apples, 2 courgettes & 2 pears from the lottie
found a pair of jeans and shoes I'd thought I'd lost so will relist on ebayrelisted 4 other items
that's all! Have a lovely evening guys xDF as at 30/12/16

Hi guys a late check in from me and not a very MSE day!
Had not felt the baby moving much last night or this morning so I had an appointment at the maternity hospital at lunch time today to check all was OK, luckily everything was fine and baby starting wriggling around as soon as I was hooked up to the monitor but it did mean that I spent £4 on a lunch time meal deal from the local garage and then about another £2 on some chocolates this morning as I felt down! But back on it tomorrow! I've not really achieved much today at all!
- Checked bank account
- Made a lunch box for tomorrow
I literally think that's all I have done today that was worth it!
I hope everyone else had a better day!x

Hmmm, well today didn't really go as planned, as I had just got going down in the greenhouse, picking all the remaining chillies & peppers, as well as another load of grapes, when I received a text to say that the large parcel I was expecting on Thursday was coming today. Boo! Had to go indoors & wait as can't hear the door in our long garden. Bloody thing didn't arrive till 2pm. I spent that time knitting a Christmas present while watching 2 TV programmes I'd recorded & got a bag of declutterings packed for the charity shop. Did manage to get out in the garden again for a bit later, long enough to pick a few runner beans, squash & the last of the sweetcorn. The theme of tonight's dinner was 'Use-it-up' & it was really nice! I did spicy lamb rice using an odd 100g little bit of lamb mince from the freezer, half an onion that was lurking in the fridge, a stick of celery, a small red pepper I picked this morning, ditto a chilli, the 'middle bits' of a carrot/courgettes which the spiralizer spat out yesterday & a few spices. I served it topped with the home-made curry sauce I froze a while back.......it's what mr f calls 'chip shop curry sauce'. It was really nice! And it used up a fair few bits of stuff.
Also did 2 surveys & succeeded in getting the laundry dry outside.

Morning all :hello: was up early but it's not surprising as DD 2 fell asleep at 5.20 last night! So I decided to be productive rather than spend time on internet.
I've made a marmalade cake in bread maker and porridge for smalls. Was going to make hobnobs, but couldn't find porridge DH bought yesterday and he's at work so can't ask him. List for today:
Check banking, surveys and FPL
Quick shower, use trial shower gel
Meals from stores, left over pork stew and dumplings for lunch, something out of freezer for tea
Water tomatoes later, pick the red ones
See if I can print the final couple of bits of my accounts at work so I can finish, did loads last night so am about 90% done
Hot drink for commute
Take a seat to go to a friend of a friend, big space freed up in garage
DH to do tip run and CS run (more space)
Think that's about all for now, be back later after work. PF.0 -
I'm going to try to post in work but I swear the new guy that sits next to me likes to peer over my shoulder to see what I'm doing :rotfl: 'Right, boyo, it's none of your business if I haven't washed my hair, have leftovers for lunch or am planning a freezer-dive tea' :rotfl:0

Morning!
Yesterday was a successful NSD.
I had a really busy day at work too so not much done off my to do list.
I'm working till late tonight so my body clock will be all over the place. I've been going to bed around 9pm and asleep by 10pm. I've been getting a good solid 9 hours sleep.
Today's to do list:
- Check banking.
- Check out my schedule for the month.
- Eat lunch and tea at home.
- Arrange childcare.
Not too much there for me. I feel totally drained to be honest and things have been getting to me lately too much!
I need to be easier on myself.Never underestimate the ability of what you can achieve.

Hi Frugal Friends,
Today's small offerings:
*Washed hair & let it dry naturally.
*Started a wash off on cheap tariff. Pegged out in blowy sunshine to dry for free.
*Made tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Picked 1kg grapes from my greenhouse, simmered & now dripping through jelly bag. Will make jelly tomorrow. Nice purpley colour.
*Froze heaps more chillies.
*Sliced & froze 3 red peppers.
*Made dough for tonight's pizza & some bread rolls.
*Wrap 2 ebay parcels.
*Knit more Christmas presents.
*Find my fake fur throw for sofa. Colder weather sure to be on its way.
That will do for today. Have to prepare for a meeting tonight (to say I'm not in the mood is an understatement).
Cheers all,
