Is this fraud?

Hi, can someone clear this up for me.

My ex wife who I have a child with, has apparently the married.
She lives in a two bed property that is paid for by benefits, the guy she married has several properties (owned) in Wales.
He spends a couple of nights a week at her house, that he has paid to furnish with top end furnishings.
She also drives a brand new car, bought by him.

Thanks in advance

Why would you dob her in if your child is benefitting from that arrangement?

What do you mean the house is paid for by benefits? A council tenant? She claims single person benefits?

I'm not sure what her furnishings or the car she drives has to do with anything? And what does it matter if her husband buys her something?

Am I missing something here, I don't fully understand?

  • If she's living on benefits while dating a rich bloke with properties who treats her to furniture and a new car, no problem. But if she's married to him, that's a different matter entirely.

I guess you mean she gets Housing Benefit to cover her rent?
If so, she should have informed the LA of her change of circumstances, and closed her claim as she is no longer a single person. HB is based on household income and now the couple seem to be above the threshold to claim.
If I have guessed correctly, then at best it is negligence, at worst it is deliberate fraud. Soon it will catch up with them and there will be a debt to repay.

If you're not married now, and you're not living together, how can you be sure whether she gets benefits or not. She and her new husband may not be claiming anything.

I know it doesn't make sense. How does he know they own properties in Wales outright too.

Is a lot of very personal insider information to know about someone yet he doesn't even know if they are married or not.

You need to move on with your life and stop worrying about what your ex wife is doing in hers.

I couldnt even tell you where my ex wife (whom i had a child with too) lives, and nor do i care.

Possibly he has principles and knows right from wrong. Good qualities for a parent to have, I would say.
