Lovely news Jojo
. Many congratulations! 0 -
Super....
It's lovely that some people keep old fashioned antiquated traditions going...
Similarly, we have a town crier in my hometown and there are occasion medieval battle re-enactments....
There are even churches with vicars and so on!
Have a wonderful day.:cool::cool: lurker:cool::cool:0 -
Our bridge over the river may have had a troll under it before the bridge collapsed.
I can't see what is old fashioned about marriage as such as you can opt for a registry office, a civil ceremony or the full works with princess dress, church, morning suits and all the accoutrements if you wish.
People thinking marriage is "just a piece of paper" or old fashioned are in for a bit of a shock unless they have done their research."This site is addictive!"

Well, a few weeks ago, after an awful day at work, he asked me to marry him. And I said yes.
Looks might not be what what matter to him in the grand scheme of things. Perhaps you're providing him with a roof over his head, food on the table, and other 'comforts'? That's what most men need, rather than a svelte 21 year old blonde.
Someone who is ageing, overweight, has psoriasis and ginger hair is still an attractive prospect if they are keeping you in the lifestyle to which you are accustomed.
Whatever the reason - a year really isn't that far away, you need to start organising and booking things now. I would get organising those invites and get any children you've got between you organised as bridemaids etc
Hope it all goes well.0 -
Your wedding car HAS to be a Volkswagen to tie in with the title of this thread, especially as hearing a woman say she was Very Wrong is almost unheard of in this day and age!

Got the wedding list sorted yet? Mother of the bride will want to get her outfit, you know what mums are like
Our day, our invite list

That's fine by me.Jojo_the_Tightfisted wrote: »Our day, our invite list

BUT - the list just has to include Gitdog.
Seriously, as I said in an earlier post - just do what suits you both.
It would be good to read about your arrangements but don't feel you have to share anything with us if you don't want to.0 -
Congratulations!
But surely if gitdog's invited then you'd have to invite idiot cat, which could get interesting...Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
Are pets invited?? I've got a snake which would look great at a wedding. Thinking of hiring him out, actually.
You could always use him as a draught excluder if you don't want to dangle him over your shoulders
