It'd be fine! You could also use it in a Sticky chicken curry, which is lush...I'll see if I can dig out the recipy.

They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.

The one I used tho was from an Indian cook book & hot mango chutney & lime pickle were used to balance out the sweet/sour of the dish.i know what library book it's from by sight so i'll pop down on Monday & get the proper recipy...Working in the ASSISI tommorow.

    Hi,

I've got some smoked mackerel with a best before date of 17 April. It's still vacuum sealed.

Do you think it's ok to use?

Give it a good sniff, if it smells odd (that's odd, not strong, it's strong anyway), don't use it.

Stuff that is smoked should last, I would eat it (but then again I scrape mould off jam and cheese and eat it):D

    Which year? :)

If it's 2012, then it should still be perfectly fine.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

I'm with Banwa. I would eat it. Smoked mackerel is really expensive these days (since we were told fish oils are good for us and supermarkets racked up the price). I don't really believe in sell-by dates. The supermarkets want you to throw things away and buy more... But dont hold me responsible for any food poisoning you get!
