Any idea how much a taxi is from the airport to the centre (H10 Casanova Hotel to precise)
There's a regular A2 bus that is almost door to door but I'm worried I'll mess it up and get moaned at by the other half for being tight.
Don't mind paying for a taxi as long as it's not silly money.

you really cant mess up the bus though.

departing el prat on the aerobus you will stop at placa espanya, easily recognizable as there is a massive statue in the middle of it and an old bull ring on the left. then you can either get off at urgell, head right as you get off the bus, or universitat head left as you get off the bus, as the H10 is equi-distant, worse case scenario you end up at placa d'catalunya, which is the last stop, and you walk along gran via back to your hotel, which is approx 10min walk.

    Single 5.9 euros
Return 10.2 euros ( valid for 15 days)

Can buy online in advance if you want.
Can't imagine they wouldn't take cash.

Every 5 mins. (So even if hold-ups, you shouldn't have to wait long).
Takes about 35 mins to Placa Catalunya.

Limited number of stops - work out which is best for your hotel; beyond that, can't see what there is to mess up.
Catalan friends tell me they wouldn't dream of using the expensive Aerobus as you can use local buses for about 1 Euro.
But not having the knowledge, or being very familiar with the city, I think 5.9 Euros is a great price for the simplicity of use, frequency and time.

(Must tell them blue lettering on blue background ain't great for those of us with impaired vision!!!)
  • I liked the tour bus. You can hop on hop off. I know they are not every ones cup of tea but if you go round you get an idea of where everything is. You also got lots of money off vouchers with your ticket. You can use it to get to the sights.

They do indeed take cash onboard.

Oh and one more bit of directional info the h20 is on the opposite side of the road to where you get off at urgell or universitat so you will need to cross the road and then head in the direction i stated previously depending on your stop

  • Just been reading the ticket options for Sagrada Familia
    http://www.sagradafamilia.org/en/tickets/
Can you enter the building for free or do you need the basic 15 euro ticket to do this?

You have to pay to enter and if you do intend on going then def prebook your tickets as the queues can be very long

The Sagrada is a don't miss imo. Pre book is so easy and you walk straight in.

Also near the cathedral, not the Sagrada, is an exhibit that is underground and shows excavations of Roman Barcelona.
Enter Parc Guell by the north (back) side up really long escalators.
Not easy to find but not difficult either. Find the metro station and it's a short walk.
Don't bother with the Picaso exhibition, not worth the queueing.

Tapas down in Barceloneta is great.
It's your money. Except if it's the governments.
