  • I'm going to catch the tail end of that 4pm kick and go do something useful. Took a half day leave as I wasn't being productive at work and slept for a couple of hours. It's blummin' freezing here so I'll make my own central heating by raring around in the kitchen. On a mission to find this filter thing on the WM too, some interesting screws at the bottom though...you watch, they'll be holding it all together or something and it'll fall apart like a clown's car next use!

Crikey, I've never know so many new folks in one week, I'm only just recognising the names of the regulars so pardon me if I get confused. Welcome to the thread!

    Evening everyone, and welcome newbies.

Haven't posted for a few days, cos I caught an awful cold at the last place I was working at, and have just not felt like flying. Feeling a little better now, although still bunged up and quite tired, but am playing nurse now, as OH went to the doctor this morning after hurting his foot on Friday (I told him to go, but he typically said that it's nothing to worry about), and they sent him to A&E, where they told him he has a hairline frature in his heelbone! So I have to take him to the fracture clinic tomorrow so that they can assess it again, and determine what the best course of action is. He came home with a pair of crutches, and orders to elevate his foot and take ibuprofen, which I practically had to force him to take (he seems to have a phobia of taking any medication etc). He did enjoy the fresh fruit salad that I spent an hour making this morning though, and has polished off 2 of the fruit flapjacks that I made this afternoon, and gave both his seal of approval, so I'm happy. :D

I cleaned the kitchen floor straight after making the flapjacks, as I thought that if I left the oven door open, that the heat left in the oven when I'd turned it off would help the floor dry, which luckily it did, as OH called when I was in the middle of cleaning it to tell me he was on his way home, and demanded a cup of tea when he hopped in. Cleaned the floor by hand this time with a cloth and a bucket of flash, as it never seems to come up very clean when I use the mop, so while I was down there I noticed that a couple of the doors were a bit mucky, and so was the fridge, so I wiped them down at the same time. :A All of the worktops were wiped down before I started the fruit salad, and the dishwasher has been loaded up with all of the cooking utensils. Am really getting into the flylady thing again now that I have time and I'm not at work this week. Made a cabbage galette (see gingham ribbon's vegetarian meal planner spring) and cauliflower cheese last night for dinner which both went down well, and we have the rest for tonight. The fridge has never been so full! :T Anyway, here's my list:

    Manic Monday - Kitchen

    Level One
    [strike]Clean floors[/strike]
    Level Two
    [strike]Clear and wipe kitchen surfaces[/strike]
[strike]Sort fridge bringing what needs using soon to the front[/strike]
    Level Three
[strike]Wipe and replace all those small appliances.. kettle, toaster etc[/strike]
[strike]Clean cupboard door fronts and fronts of appliances[/strike]
Clean oven if you didn't do it last week - will clean the hob as oven is clean still.
    Extra Mission

    • [strike]Wipe window sills and clean windows in these rooms[/strike]
Off to lunch with a friend on Wednesday, so looking forward to that. It's freezing here at the moment so hope that's not the end of the summer for us as it's nice to be able to hang the washing out (we don't have radiators just warm air heating, so it makes it a lot harder to do the washing in the winter as the TD is expensive to run, so I try not to use it unless absolutely necessary, even if I have to wear gloves to put the washing out). Reading my post, it has become apparent that I really should get out more! :rotfl:

Hope you're all well, and best of luck with the house situation lil_me. Hugs to all who need them, and happy flying everyone.

  • Hello to all the newbies.

Hugs to those feeling fed up, shattered or stressed out.

Did the lists to level 3 and also hoovered the front room floor.
DH has hoovered the furniture in there too.
Am off for my scan tomorrow late afternoon after work so probably won't get much done apart fom dailies.
Am spending far too much time obsessing about what may be wrong.

Did 2 days worth of ironing challenge and now have nothing in laundry
    basket. :T

Also updated finances, found a folder to put DS's homework in so the sheets are kept together in one place until needed to be handed in, wrote letter for doctor, made lunches for tomorrow, helped DS with his spellings.

Have downloaded turbo lister and found 25 things to photograph, just need to take the photos, maybe tomorrow evening for that.

Going to do the drying up, sort out clothes for tomorrow and then either update my diary or read.

    Have a good evening everyone.
...it is not of more importance than daily life, which I have an enduring wish to make as useful and beautiful as possible.

    Hiya
Welcome to anyone newly joined. I've managed most of the list today though I did drop a bottle of cooking oil all over the inside of the oven and the house is a bit smelly! Need to burn a few essential oils I think. I'm going to bed as soon as DD and DS do as i'm totally shattered. Catch up soon xx

Hi everyone and welcome to all the newbies :)

Well not done loads of flying today but have done some ironing, stuff that was washed yesterday. Bit of that left to do later. Parcelled and posted ebay sales and then helped mum take a trailer load of tree clippings to the tip. Since we got back we have made the malteser traybake. Think I've done it right, the maltesers are all nude now though! (is that how they should be?) It's on the fridge chilling now, will sneak a bit later strictly for testing purposes only you understand :p

Disney pics arrived today :D some great ones on there, had a coffee and oohed and aahed my way through them.

Dinner on the go, sausage veg and gravy not got the right cheese for cheese sauce so will have that another day.

Does anyone need help with turbolister? I could perhaps give a few pointers once DD and DS are in bed.

  • Welcome to all the new flybabies!
Hope you feel at home here with us.

I did manage to do quite a bit of cleaning in the kitchen after the dinner.
We don't have a dining room so that leaves that out.

Did also clean the loo as part of my daily thingy. Little one is in bed now.. still coughing the poor thing.

DD3 is doing her last turn on the dance mat before she's off to bed.

DD1 is off upstairs now to watch tv for half an hour before going to sleep as well. She's exhausted with riding her bike to school every day (over an hour there, and the same back again) She's getting fit though!

    :D

Okay, I'm just doing a bit more work on my book... can't wait!!
    back again tomorrow!

tinselfairy Good Luck for tomorrow, fingers crossed it's something and nowt, try not to worry too much

Well what can I say - you've all done marvellously, I'm dead impressed :T

Ahem! a few questions about Ebay if folks don't mind, I know this isn't strictly and Ebay thread but y'know there's some Ebay professionals on here so......just tell me to shuddup if it gets too much.

    1. What do I weigh stuff on? bathroom scales? kitchen scales? bearing in mind that neither are much cop.

    2. Do I click 'buy it now' or don't I have to?

    3. Do I accept all forms of payment or can I just click paypal?, I really don't want it to end up messy and I thought if only paypal then both me and the buyer are covered (?) and I don't want to be messing with cheques etc etc etc

    4. Do I put a reserve price on? I think I'm leaning towards that cause most of the run of the mill stuff I'll only get probs £1 for if there's bidders lol, but then again maybe it will mean it not selling and having to re-list it?

    That's it for now :D

Welcome chasingbutterflies! That's a lovely username btw :)

    1. What do I weigh stuff on? bathroom scales? kitchen scales? bearing in mind that neither are much cop.

I use the kitchen scales to get an idea and check up on the royal mail site for a vague idea.. but I usually stick with £2.50 for clothing and £4 for bigger things and £8 for heavy things.. I think we seller shiuld cover the ebay and paypal fees and also the packaging materials we use.

    2. Do I click 'buy it now' or don't I have to?

    You don't have to

You can just click paypal.. but don't forget you have fees on there (I add mine to postage costs)

    4. Do I put a reserve price on? I think I'm leaning towards that cause most of the run of the mill stuff I'll only get probs £1 for if there's bidders lol, but then again maybe it will mean it not selling and having to re-list it?

I start mine at the lowest price I am willing to accept for something.. plus they charge you for using reserve price which I do begrudge! I often list stuff at 99p (lower listing fee!) and have the postage at £2.50.. if I know it won't go for much anyway.
